Doing better one day and worse the next could be a neck injury as well. But everyone jumps to the conclusion it's a concussion for no reason

And truth be told, it very well could be a concussion. But we literally have NOTHING to base that on other than fear and speculation. And if we're going to use symptoms that can be tied to a bunch of different things, including what was actually reported, that's like trying to diagnose yourself by Googling things on the internet.

No one from the team has said anything. No one on the reporting side of things has an indication that's it is concussion.

I mean for a site that makes people jump through hoops and run a confidence course to prove their credentials, for fear of getting sued for libel, can we at least have some kind of order when it comes to speculating on medical claims without anything more than a tin foil hat?

Having a concussion, or any injury for that matter, where it gets better or worse some days, is pretty scary to think of. I've never had a concussion thankfully, all of my injuries I've ever gotten have been pretty straightforward recovery-wise. Day 1 sucks, day 2 feels a bit better, day 3 even better, expect to feel even better the next day etc., it's a decently linear path. So I cant imagine progress seemingly completely vanishing when you thought you were starting to come out of the woods.

That was one of the most funniest and incredibly on point things that I have read here in a long time.

What started off as just a minor day to day thing has now turned into missing at least 8 games, but have no fear because Quinn stated yesterday there has been no set backs with him. Whatever the team says is always the truth so we have nothing to worry

Accurate except in this case the mechanic is saying it's most likely a starter/engine/front half of the car type problem.

He's getting likes from the 'probably concussion' guys and retorts from the 'probably not a concussion' guys, but he is clearly a 'probably not a concussion guy'.

To be clear I am on the "highly unlikely to be a concussion" side of things.

Poor Mika just can't catch a break. Every time he starts to bloom, he gets injured by some cheap shot. Every damn season. I guess he'll need time to get up to game speed again after he gets back and if it's a concussion, the results of that kind of injury can linger for a long time, especially mentally.

True unfortunately when he does return given his history of how he reacts to injury we may not see the real Mika for a long time. This season could fall apart on him easily.

I’m watching the hit in slow mo on twitter right now and he takes it directly on the chin. I have no idea how this is legal and I also have no idea how this isn’t a concussion considering where that shoulder caught him. I’m very concerned. I understand very clearly what they’re saying that it’s his neck but I just have a really hard time believing it with the way this has gone.

Yeah, the video on youtube shows that Bergeron's shoulder forcefully hits Mika's chin as well as his chest. The force of hit sends Mika's head flying back. It's easy to see that this could cause him another concussion.



Hope he gets better after this. It was a nasty hit.
