Sony is scared because they’re going to lose all the sweet perks they paid for to dominate the market (the Xbox and PC experience is garbage as a result). That and they have done zero work to compete on their own but rather keep making remakes of past games.

It will go though.

Example of the Sony perks

It's pretty comical to hear some of the arguments Sony has made in the courts. I understand why, but damn, it completely contradicts their entire business model.

I read the UK one is also looking suspicious (extended investigation) as one person involved in it publicly commented "will I be able to play Call Of Duty on MY Playstation?" Then tried to say he's not involved in the process, except he was. Or something like that.

In general, one would think Minecraft being multiplatform is literally the "ultimate" defense for Microsoft. They're not stupid to turn away money.

That's HUGE. I absolutely loved World to the point i had probably 800 hours into it.

I don't usually console war but i thought Rise ran like complete shit on the switch. 30 FPS, muddy 720p resolution and the control scheme felt off because of the a/b buttons being flipped on switch controls completely screwing with my muscle memory.

Just felt like a massive downgrade compared to World.

Plus High on Life, the Microsoft exclusive created by the creators of Rick and Morty, releases in less than two weeks - day one on Game Pass

Hmm, wonder what's holding it up.

Has anyone here played Deathloop? Been wanting to get into it for a bit now, Arkane has a really good track record and it reviewed well.

I beat it earlier this month. I loved it. Was pretty confused at the start but once it clicked, I fell hard. It’s a very unique game and the voice acting and writing is incredible.

I'm a couple hours in, it's interesting, but confusing. Is there any advantage to venturing off the path with the marker? Sometimes they'll be a split, but it seems kind of pointless at this point to go battle enemies when the objective is the other way.

I'm also noticing some performance issues during battles

There’s definitely value in exploring because you may gather intel for later on, but generally sticking to the mission is good. It also opens up after you finish the first little bit and starts to make more sense. Not sure how far you are in but it took me until it opened up to understand.

Saw that Dragon Quest XI is leaving GP on the 15th, in case anyone has that on their radar (and you should, top 5 JRPG of the generation for me)
I'm kind of salty about this game cause the version on PC is the switch version with heavily downgraded graphics. Actually I think only the PS4 version has the original graphics, with none of the QoL improvements that the S version has. I beat it on PS4 and replayed about half of it on Xbox and PC and it was just so much worse visually.

Beginning in 2023, games built for Xbox Series X|S including Forza Motorsport, Redfall, and Starfield will cost $69.99 USD at launch. While Xbox has noted that regional pricing may differ, it has not yet given specifics for other countries.

Not exactly shocking, although, I don't know how many console owners this will actually affect since it seems most choose to get Gamepass with their system or if they want to play these games on those systems will re-sign up. More of the complaints will probably be from PC users who are looking forward to Starfield and don't want to sign up for gamepass and prefer to use an outside launcher. The real question is how long does MS hold off on raising the monthly price of Gamepass (not really concerned as I got 35 more months through the games with gold trick on PC).

After Microsoft’s news that they’re putting CoD on Switch post merger and a huge stamp of approval from Steam’s Gabe Newell it’s a done deal.

It's not a done deal. It's likely, but the markets didn't react like this is a done deal. There is still a 4 dollar premium to be made on every Activision share you own when the deal closes. This is obviously MS's PR move to appeal to regulators in the EU, US and UK who are putting it very under the microscope.
