Microsoft Xbox Discussion Part II

I'm looking at the Series S instead of upgrading to a PS5 from a PS3 as I've become a casual gamer the older I've gotten and I know all I'll be playing is FIFA/NHL/maybe Rugby or NBA and beat 2-3 games an year if I'm lucky. Maybe sometime around Black Friday or Boxing Day if there's a bundle or just more on the used market.

I'll miss out on games like Red Dead and Spiderman but meh it seems like the lineup for XBox is more than enough to keep a gamer busy these days.

I am wondering in this case though if you're only playing a few sports games an year then would it be more economical to just buy the other ones when they go on sale or to pay $140 or whatever it is per year for GamePass?

Red Dead is on Xbox, as already mentioned. The sports games don't go on GP until the next release is about to come out so if that's all you're interested in then I'd forgo the service and just buy the games when they're on sale.

I would still get GP for a few months, there's tons of games on there and it's the closest thing we have to renting nowadays.

The Switch version is supposed to be the original with online play, whereas the Xbox version is completely updated but doesn’t have online for some reason. They haven’t given dates though.

Congrats, it's an awesome piec of hardware. The fact that it is so small, powerful and yet completely silent a meter away is astonishing!
Night and day difference in terms of noise compared to my PS5. Series X is just so quiet..

Brazil has approved the acquisition of Activision by Microsoft.

Point 5 in there official summary might be considered a legitimate act of murder.

I'm building a PC, but figured Gamepass was pretty needed to immediately have a good catalog of games. Just wanted to point out to anyone who hasn't done it, stacking 3 years of Xbox Gold, and then converting it to a gamepass ultimate subscription still works for anyone who hasn't done it yet. Haven't owned an Xbox since the original (been a PS guy mostly, although I have a Switch) but my roommate of 3 years in Uni had a 360. Pretty excited to play some of the Xbox exclusives I've missed out on over the past decade. Probably starting with Sunset Overdrive as I love Insomniac, but Psychonauts 2, Forza Horizon 5, Gears of War, and Halo Infinite are absolutely on my list.

Go straight to Forza. Such an awesome game. It's one of my GOTY's with the Hot Wheels DLC.

Anyone else play Scorn? I went in blind and I feel like it sucks and its just a boring puzzle game but Im wondering if its just me.

Oh man scratch that I dont need any second opinion. This game is horrible. Next time a game comes out with a cool art style I'll just assume the game will suck.

I played it about 20 minutes and deleted it.

Double checking, there isn't a way to turn off the "Quick Resume" feature on the SX correct? I don't find it useful for the games I play because i have to recconect to the game's servers with each startup as is. With QR on i end up booting up the game, not connecting to the server, xbox menu -->quit game, then start the game up again anyway.
