Finally bit the bullet and bought a Series X on the microsoft store for $550 just now. Says it arrives sometime next week.

Obviously Game Pass is highly recommended, I barely used my XB1, and it may be partly due to me being able to get a Series X probably 6 months or more before I was able to get a PS5, but I feel like the Series X made some great strides, and I have been more than happy with it

Awesome. I have an X1 now and game pass as well. I wanted to get one now before they’re most likely impossible to get again during the holidays.

I hope my games will look better on my tv and now that I’ve waited almost 2 years since it released there will be some great games coming down the pipeline soon

Deathloop’s one year exclusivity ends tomorrow and Jez from Windows Central says we will almost certainly hear about it coming to Xbox this week and that it’ll release “soon”.

Some JRPGs coming to GP in Ni No Kuni (September), Persona 5 Royal( October), and Ni No Kuni 2(next year), all worth checking out when they become available

Death Loop being XBX/S exclusive is going to finally make me say goodbye to my XB1. Not looking forward to downloading everything again but I get crazy speeds so not a big deal.

Is there any legit reason I should go with the X over the S? I don't have a 4k TV and like the price/size of the S.

If you don’t have a 4K tv, probably not. Only issue is storage and no disc. The S is a nice machine.

Seriexs X has triple the processing power and roughly double the HDD space, at some point you will likely have a 4k tv

There are legitimate reasons to pick the S over X. Ive had multiple chances to swap the S with the X, but I just feel like it doesn't make sense for me. Its my second console, its so portable, the games I play aren't really affected by the low power etc.

That said, theres tons of drawbacks, notable the storage. Its a 512 gb SSD but only 364 gb is available. Thats literally 2 AAA games and its full.

If the Xbox is your main console then I would spring for the X but the S is great for me as it's my second console and the lack of disc drive isn't bothersome as it's basically a game pass machine for me at this point.

The storage is a pretty big difference.

Yeah the lack of noise and controller battery life are huge plusses for the Series X over the PS5
As is the quick resume feature. I love quick resume, especially on games where you can’t just save at any point you want. If I’m in the middle of a mission and have to stop playing I can just pause the game, shut off the console and still resume right where I paused. I sure with PlayStation would add that feature to the ps5!

I didn’t know this. Thanks. I keep my ps5 in power save mode. That’s probably why.
Suspend only works if you leave your ps5 in rest mode where it doesn’t fully turn off, but I don’t really like to do that.

That's not the same thing at all. Xbox dumps the contents of RAM into a reserved space in non-volatile storage, and can do this for 5 games at once I believe. Now I don't really use Quick Resume much, but it is a neat feature.
It works for smaller games but a lot of games won't suspend at all on Xbox. In some ways xboxs suspend feature is like a million times better than PlayStation, red dead redemption and gears of war 3 for example I've had suspended for like an entire year regardless of how many games I've played since, but other games it doesnt suspend at all.

It's hilarious that World Of Tanks has it but it's useless because the game requires logging in on WarGaming's servers and you basically have to re-start the game anyway and it doesn't seem to work all the time.

For most games that require you to log in to their server, the suspend option does not work. I pretty much restart every game. Epic, Pug G and even COD, it won't connect again without restarting the game.
Yeah same. It doesn’t work for online multiplayer but it’s a cool feature nonetheless

EDIT: It's kind of pointless if the game you're playing requires you to connect to a server. I can't quick resume for Halo Infinite, MCC, Valhalla, or Elden Ring. I still have to go back to the main menu or quit the game to reconnect to the server.

It takes only a few seconds so it's not awful, but it hasn't been a beneficial feature to me yet
