Pitching market is absolute insanity. This is inane. Guy is a 37 year old injury magnet. This is the type of guy that should go for a third of this because the likelihood of reinjury is just so high.

Contracts are just out of hand in baseball. This guy is going to get 17 million if he’s just okay and he doesn’t sprain something.
I thought the same thing. He made three starts for Cleveland and ended up on the IL after each one. That's absolutely insane and I'm glad that even though my Guardians had interest in bringing him back, they didn't at that price.

Spend the money on Skubal, not scraps.
Yeah, that's the part I don't understand. Either pony up for a couple of quality additions or commit to staying cheap and going with the kids.

Don't overpay for a lower tier guy that will spend more time on the DL than on the roster.

He is a moron for that.
No, he’s not. I see what they were doing. It just didn’t work out. Mack Hollins made an awesome play.

If the league wasn’t so f***ing stupid as to completely neuter any kind of trickery in plays, a surprise onside kick there would have been an incredible idea.

But now that you have to declare it… it’s just mindnunbingly stupid

Lions just lost McNeil and Davis probably long term. Both of which happened prior to the onside attempt.

This team is f***ing 12-2 and I have lower expectations this year than last...

Alim McNeil torn ACL
Carlton Davis broken jaw

Unbelievable how hard it is to win man. I love this Lions team so much it's hard to see them get decimated like this
Ugh, that sucks. I wonder what (if any) options Davis has versus how long a full recovery will take.

It's been downright brutal this past month for injuries. I have no idea who will be left standing when the playoffs begin.

Dan Campbell's new strategy has to be go for every 4th down and only do on side kicks at this point with the injuries right... We have to prevent the other offense from ever getting the ball.

Can you onside the initial kickoff?

But seriously its a major bummer to see an absolutely special season get destroyed by injuries.

Can you onside the initial kickoff?

The Bills knew it was coming because teams must declare an onside kick and can only try it in the fourth quarter under the league’s overhauled kickoff rules. The element of surprise — the Saints once executed an onside kick to start the second half in a Super Bowl — has been eliminated this season due to the new rules, which further reduced the success rate.

It was 12 mins left in the 4th. All of his time outs.He didn't need to do that. Onside kicks success rate is like 3%...

Do the Lions remind anyone of the year we had all those injuries. With it was like 8-9 players out at one point.

Agreed. But they weren't winning that game either way.

Onside kicks success rate is like 3%...
The rate is only so low because of the dumb new rules. I can understand saying you have to be trailing, but limiting it to the 4th quarter and having to declare it ahead of time is just pointless and ridiculous. Let a team spring it on an opponent whenever they can.

Yeah, and the defense wasn’t stopping Buffalo. Shit, they didn’t even stop them on the drive before they made it 6 points. The Bills got caught with a hold on a TD

I have zero problem with trying it. They knew they needed to steal a possession by hook or by crook.

Dribbling onside kicks never made sense to me. Just rip a line drive at the wedge for maximum chaos. It either hits a guy and becomes live or it misses them and goes down field anyway.
