My leaf fan buddy is shocked lol

He's scoring on breakaways which was always his weakness . So fast so he gets them a lot but usually misses

What impresses me the most is that they are all ES goals. A lot of these other players with around the same amount of goals get top PP time.

Yes, that is what I was referring to. Only Jagr in 1999-2000 had more even strength goals without any PP/SH goals, after 18 games (dating back to 86-87)

I don't like that stat because while it's impressive sounding it restricts the pool of players to those that didn't score any PP/SH goals. If it was the most even strength goals period regardless of scoring PP/SH goals or not, that would be more impressive.

Only 27 players since 86-87 scored at least 11 ES goals through 18 games to start the season... That's 30 seasons. Grabner the only one doing it for the Rangers

Am I the only one that doesn't like a player from the Rangers going to some team in Las Vegas where no one cares about hockey anyway? Why should we lose a player for nothing?

What would you think is a better way to fill out a roster on a brand new team? Make them sign 23 free agents that no one else wants?

An expansion team needs to be somewhat competitive. The expansion draft makes sense.

What is the rules for the expansion draft in a nutshell?

Something along the lines of L.V gets to take a free agent from each club of their choosing? That's some ********.

There's a sticky thread on the business sub. Teams protect a certain amount of players, Vegas picks one of the exposed from each team. Bunch of rules on who can and cannot be exposed. Players with less than two years pro are exempt.

LA can pick players who are not protected. NMC players are automatically protected. They can only pick 1 player per team.

They can negotiate with free agents earlier, to give them more time to reach an agreement.

He's playing like he's worth protecting. Let's see if he keeps this up.

Rangers will have to make moves.

Trading NHL pieces to a team like Buffalo that needs it for two pieces that don't need protection like Will Borgen and Justin Bailey can be realistic. That's a team needs to take a step.

SJ is another team. Jeremy Roy and local boy Kevin Lablanc. Kid's from the area, and he's the real deal. 6th Round steal, torched the OHL the last two years. 127 points in junior.

Already played NHL games.

Why does it read like an ignorant post? I don't see Las Vegas getting a team growing the sport significantly. Why should we lose a player like Grabner over it?

They said the same about the Kings. When we have teams like the Panthers, Coyotes and Islanders struggling to sell even 50% of the tickets, we have more important things to worry about than a team in Las Vegas. If it doesn't work in Vegas, they can move the team. But Vegas has a better chance at selling out than Glendale or Sunrise.

The Islanders have a different problem altogether, due to the move to Brooklyn. That was a ridiculous decision

I just don't like losing a player for nothing due to another one of Gary Bettman's pet projects.

Pet projects? It's for the good of the league.

I feel like it waters down the league. Teams who can't sell seats should just be moved to cities that may sell. Carolina Florida Arizona should all be moved instead of expanding

Las Vegas was able to sellout season tickets w/o the majority being due to corporations or casinos.

Vegas hockey will be fine.

The bigger question will be competition with other sports.

Exactly. How else are these new expansion teams supposed to get half way decent NHL quality talent unless they can poach the rest of the league teams spare parts. I don't see why this is so hard to understand..:help:

Besides if Grabossy keeps up even 75% of this type of play he isn't going anywhere.
