May not be of much interest to many here, but I was a little surprised to see PIT-CBJ on CBC. CBC got the first two choices and it looks like that was their second choice (behind MTL-TBL of course). I was guessing that they would have chosen BOS-DET instead but I guess Sid is just too big of a draw.

Even more surprising, the Jackets-Pens look like they will get the 7:00 Saturday Hockey Night in Canada slot for both Game 2 and Game 5. There will be a lot of Canadian eyes on the series with that slot. Surprised that Montreal is not scheduled to play either Saturday.

So only ONE Canadian team made the playoffs this season? And why the hell are WE worried about getting respect from them?!?

Was listening to NHL Network on Sirius last week and they said all playoff games on NBC, NBC Sports, MSNBC or NHL Network

CNBC instead of MSNBC, but yeah, I don't understand what role the regional sports networks play in all of this, if any.

I think the can carry their own pre-game & post-game shows before & after the network coverage begins/ends..........

Does anyone know if the NBCSN games are going to be blacked-out in the Pens tv territory?

I just barely live in their territory and their regular season games are blacked-out due to local coverage but even if I wanted to watch their local channel my cable doesn't even carry the channel. Then I get FSO and they can show Jacket's game here. It's so stupid.

There shouldn't be any blackouts since there's no local coverage.

I guess it remains to be seen what happens locally, but why on earth would FSO need to broadcast the game when it's already on nationally?

From what I remember, Fox Sports Ohio still has rights to broadcast the games. Rimer even made it sound like that during last night's game.

AFAIK they do except for the NBC national games just like the regular season.

Edit

From FSOhio.com

"All Blue Jackets Stanley Cup Playoffs games will be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network, including flagship station Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan in Columbus and online at BlueJackets.com. The FOX Sports Ohio television broadcast schedule will be released prior to the start of the series."

I'll be going to games 2, 3 and 4. Never been to a Jackets road game before so hope I survive the trip to Pittsburgh! Got a pair in 229 for Saturday night.

Does anyone know what hotel the Jackets stay in when they go to Pittsburgh? I think it may be the hotel where we're staying. Not sure that information is available..

Hope to see a lot of you there!

One thing's for sure: I won't be blacked out!

Another thing's for sure: I won't make it home until midway through the 2nd of those weekday games... :help:

In past years NBC and it's stations have used the local feed and broadcast it nationally. I don't know what that does for local viewers and what restrictions there are, because the Jackets were never involved.

The Jackets might win more games than some think simply because of Bobrovsky, he’s going to be good. I also like the blue collar work ethic of the team, they are indeed hard to play against.. Overall I would say Pens in 5 but it could go to six; seven would mean the Pitt offense was shut down by Bob and our scoring by committee took advantage of an average Pittsburgh defense..

It will be a fun series, the home opening game in Columbus on Monday will be bedlam. Regardless of what they do in Pittsburgh I think the Jackets win Monday, and possibly Wednesday…

Pittsburgh in 5-6....

Tickets I got for game 2 in Pittsburgh were less than the games here in Columbus.

You must mean on Stubhub/resale sites? Because there are lots of tickets on Ticketmaster for Saturday night's game and Pens are charging more than CBJ charged.

Upper Bowl seats for CBJ were $60 + TM fees
Upper Bowl seats for Pens are $94-$128 + TM fees.

Lower Bowl seats for CBJ started at $120 + TM fees
Lower Bowl seats for Pens start at $210 + TM fees

Not much different than 2009 vs. Detroit. Detroit couldn't sell their tickets and were marketing tickets to Jacket Backers. I think those fan bases just kinda spoiled and don't see CBJ as a real interesting first round opponent. Jacket Backers may want to try and negotiate a package of discount tickets with Pens.
