I thought the formula to beat the penguins was known:
Piss off Crosby
Hit everything that moves
Stay out of the box

We can do two of those pretty easily. Do the last one and we've got this.

What's the team's game #6 ticket sales plan? Wouldn't it have been easier to make that one available on the first go round?

In five games head to head this season, #CBJ have held a lead on Pittsburgh for all of 56 seconds. Pens have led or been tied for 299:04.

Ouch....

Yeah, we'll have to show another gear or this will be over in 4 games.

CBJ can't be in awe of the playoff vibe and give too much respect to the Pens. Pens are a very good team but don't make them better by defending against their potent offense for 60 min. Attack them and punch them in the mouth.

For me, the key is playing 5 vs 5 hockey. Of we are killing penalties we are losing badly. I think the cbj has the advantage in goal and at center(top to bottom overall, not necessarily best player). Let's hope for a packed house of CBJ fans.

The Flyers usually turn their matches with the Pens into penalty fests, so I'm not sure 5 on 5 is the way to go. You want them to take the most penalties, of course, and let's not forget that we've relied on our powerplay for a big proportion of our goals lately. Though I did just check the stats and the Pens were 2nd at both powerplay and penalty kill this year. :help:

We finished tied with Philadelphia so we were 3 seconds away from playing New York. Shame.

Beating Pittsburgh in a seven game series would be my favorite sports memory, but all I ask for is a home win.

Also really worried about their fan presence in our arena. Those people are the worst.

Game 1: Pens come out smokin'. Pitt 5 CBJ 1
Game 2: CBJ win stunner in OT. CBJ 2 Pitt 1
Game 3: Pens roll. Pitt 4 CBJ 0
Game 4: CBJ late. CBJ 3 Pitt 2
Game 5: Pens exert their will. Pitt 5 CBJ 1
Game 6: Jackets counted out but rally to win. CBJ 3 Pitt 2
Game 7: ?

I don't see the scores being so far apart. If the pens beat us by 4 in 3 games we won't make it to a game 7. The games will have to be a lot closer to make it to a game 7.

My hope is Richards doesn't get sentimental & think he should dress Boll. Unfortunately that would mean our LVP would be wearing the "A" but I'm willing to live with that.

Wonder what the split of PIT fans will be in Columbus since it was what 50-60% Pens in the reg season?

How is Columbus taking it? Is this a big deal and has it spread to Cincy and Cleveland? Is PIT hated locally?

First 2 games sold out before this series was even confirmed. Won't be like the regular season but there should still be a few bandwagoners/traveling Pens fans in attendence.

NE Ohio is frontrunner country if you aren't the Browns so lots of Pens fans there. Central Ohio has a decent bit of front runners as well. Can't speak for SW Ohio.

It's the question everybody is curious to find out. I don't think there will be as many Pittsburgh residents traveling across state lines because in theory they were shut out of the ticket sales. If anything we'll really find out how many of the regular season turdburg fans were local turncoats vs. fans who made the road trip who probably couldn't afford to go to a game in Pittsburg.

Less then 10% and they will be so spread out they will have little to no impact.

As far as I know there are about ten people in Cincinnati who are even aware that Columbus has an NHL team. People here are clueless about anything happening outside of Cincinnati.

I saw a guy with a Blue Jackets sticker on his car about a week ago and I almost crashed into him trying to say hello.

I'm excited about seeing our guys play in ot. I know I know, it could wear them out, and yes that is a concern. But playoff overtime is the best.

As long as we win.

I very seldom post on the boards. But I think this is the fans playoffs as well. I don't give a crap how many turdbird fans are there it's the teams job to win the game and our job to win the arena.

If there's a game six in Columbus, this city will be nuts over the CBJ.

AND STHs and other Jacket fans will have the same short notice to get tix that the Pens fans will have potentially creating the usual 50/50 split in NWA. If this game would have been handled at the same time as game 3 & 4 it would already be a sellout.

I'm guessing 10-15% max. Not many tickets on Stubhub (800-900) which, if all bought by Pens fans, would have CBJ fans out number Pens fans 20-1. Definitely won't be an arena takeover.

Cash aspect is really interesting. Pulled up the Pitt ticket site last nite and found the minimum $ for lower bowl is somewhere in the $237 range. way more than the $120 I shelled out for tickets in Nationwide. If this thing goes 6 CBJ better have a tight lid on how those tix are distributed. That would be the game that would worry me for Pitt fans trying to overrun the arena. Are you listening JD....
