How in gods name could you have watched that period and thought the Flyers looked more dangerous with the puck, outside of the 2 minute powerplay?

Honestly, how?

They weren't more dangerous with the puck but they did have some huge huge chances, most of which came off of a poor play in the defensive zone by us.

Yea this is going to 7 games....

I'm pretty sure the playoffs are fixed. That statement has nothing to do with the Rangers. But the playoffs are marketing heaven for the NHL; gotta give prospective enthusiasts the most entertaining matchups and games if you want more fans on board.

I really think the guy due for a goal is Brassard either him or MSL needs to get going fast.

Please avoid personal posts, including blanket statements about all posters.

If you cannot resist the urge to flame people, you will be removed from the thread and assessed an infraction on your way out.

Sure, I agree. But Poo can't put himself in that position in the first place. He's a ****ing idiot.

But, as a few will tell you, hockey sense doesn't matter. :sarcasm:

I completely agree with that too. He does some really stupid ****.

Let's relax and see how this period goes.
Mason is playing well, but did we expect him to wear a blindfold?
Stay out of the box and keep attacking their defense.

I don't think Nash ever plays "excellent". People's standards have just gotten lower as we've acclimated to him. For Nash, he's playing fine tonight. Good even. But Nash's "fine" at this point is most other teams top winger/7M+ guys off night. So yes, if we're used to Nash being our marquee forward, he's not playing any worse than usual. It's just that the standard really isn't that high anymore. The guy just does not bring it, so no one expects him to anymore.

Hank the only one playing. The only one. Girardi was until the dumbest up the center of the ice giveaway while killing a penalty ever.

Otherwise, invisible, soft or just plain bad.

Diff players, diff years same story.

They have 40 to turn it on but that was a pretty bad period

We outplayed Philly by a lot, but when we get chances we look like an ECHL team.

I have no idea why there are complaints about Nash so far.

Played excellent defensively, set up a few guys with gorgeous passes, took the puck to the net late in the period and JUST missed potting a goal.

Good period by him for sure.

Gotta agree with you there. Nash isn't a physical player - he never was. There have been some decent opportunities generated by him as well.

Yup, its disgusting to see. He is way more concerned with preserving his health (avoiding any further PCS) than playing his guts out to try and win.

Rick Nash has no heart.

Wow.

If McD and G didn't let Simmonds chill in the crease, this is a 0-0 game that the Rangers are absolutely dominating, largely because Nash-Steps-MSL has funneled the puck towards PHI's zone when they're on the ice.

If I was Nash, I too would be way more concerned with preserving my health, considering how well i'd be playing this series yet getting zero respect from the fanbase.

Good period by him for sure.

He hasn't really set up any major quality chances and isn't putting up points (most importantly goals). His effort is there but it isn't enough. His PO history is being taken into account here it's a summative evaluation

Come on bro its just 20 in and they dominated 5 on 5

I agree that they dominated on 5 v 5 for 18 minutes.

But, seeing how the Flyers have responded when holding the lead in the past games that they've held the lead, they will break apart any fluid nature to this.

Weak ****ing minded team. The leadership should look at themselves in the mirror because they constantly ****ing **** the bed in these clinch games and force us into needless Game 7s.

Yep, the "leadership" of this team (Staal, Richards, Girardi, McDonagh, Nash, St Louis) are all absolute garbage tonight. Life is good on Dolan's country club, where no one is ever accountable and no one feels the need to play hard.

If you're so certain they're going to lose, what are you still watching for? Seems pointless.

He thought the season was over when we lost back to back against OTT and COL.

Should have stopped watching then.

How in gods name could you have watched that period and thought the Flyers looked more dangerous with the puck, outside of the 2 minute powerplay?

Honestly, how?

They didn't look more dangerous in totality; they just looked more dangerous when they stole the puck -- though that was also situational (the Miller giveaway comes to mind).

Addendum: that's just an observation. It's only a one-goal deficit, and Mason isn't good enough to withstand this much pressure for 60m, but we do need to be cognizant of the Flyers' offensive opportunism. That's my point (in short).

Stepan appears to be drunk, pouliot reverting to old ways and we know we won't get any help from the refs. Having said all that, we are plaing the weakest playoff team and if we can't respond against them we have no shot in hell at the cup.

Its only 1-0 after one period....some people act like there is only 2 seconds left in the game with the faceoff in our zone...and i still think we could score....lol...LGR!!!!!!!!!!

It's because the Flyers have clamped down whenever they had a lead. And the Rangers haven't proven they could do anything about it.
