Other than Poo, great period. The Rangers are dominating Philly right now. Mason is playing out of his mind. They have to score to get him off his game.

I still have faith.

Stay out of the damn box and we win this.

That penalty was again, aided by a Giroux embellishment and the ref's affinity for Claude.

Soft call, leading to a power play goal. The same script as in game 3, and game 4. Early soft penalties awarded to Giroux.

Unlucky bounce off of McD's skate. He's having a brutal series.

Weak ****ing minded team. The leadership should look at themselves in the mirror because they constantly ****ing **** the bed in these clinch games and force us into needless Game 7s.

So, not a bad period. It's sickening to see the way Giroux dives and gets no call.
I knew the Flyers would come out strong, after the PP goal they have been energized. Cliche cliche but the next goal is Humangous Big! If we can shut the crowd up and tie it is our game. If the Flyers score, our chances of coming from behind are shot.

probably their best period of the series, minus a dumb selfish penalty. Play two more like that and they'll win this game

The Flyers look more dangerous with the puck than the Rangers do. Puck possession and pressure are useless if they don't create anything. An effective counterattack is our kryptonite.

Sure, I agree. But Poo can't put himself in that position in the first place. He's a ****ing idiot.

But, as a few will tell you, hockey sense doesn't matter. :sarcasm:

The Flyers will make adjustments between periods now. Just like in games 2 and 4 they will tighten up the rest of the game, especially with a lead. Rangers are really gonna have to simplify things and crash the net these last 2 periods if they wanna win imo

Nash will show up in the last 30 seconds when it's too late, come on Rick prove me wrong!

I posted that comment after that.

You don't realize that he's playing scared because he's afraid of another concussion. He's playing the game SAFE. You need your best player to play the opposite of that.

I've come to accept this as fact. But when he first came here he'd work the perimeter, work it to his d-men, use his ass to shield the puck, all things that don't require taking big hits and yet now he does nothing at all. On the play where he drove he did not stop moving his feet. The problem is he was 1 v 4 and had no chance of converting much there. It was good to see effort there but effort is not enough

This team is reminding me of the 11-12 team in frustration, just in a whole different way. Why can't Sather get us a team for once that's not only good enough to win 4-3 in a series.

How in gods name could you have watched that period and thought the Flyers looked more dangerous with the puck, outside of the 2 minute powerplay?

Honestly, how?

The worst part about this now is that Philadelphia will shell up completely now and focus on deflecting passes and blocking shots. Expect a slow and frustrating game from this point on. I hope a lucky bounce goes in for us and begins their downfall.

Our PP sucking is huge. If we can't make them pay, they will continue to be aggressive . Meanwhile, their PP is dangerous and with them getting the benefit of gifted power plays ...:shakehead

Its only 1-0 after one period....some people act like there is only 2 seconds left in the game with the faceoff in our zone...and i still think we could score....lol...LGR!!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea why there are complaints about Nash so far.

Played excellent defensively, set up a few guys with gorgeous passes, took the puck to the net late in the period and JUST missed potting a goal.

Good period by him for sure.

This team's finishing gives me indigestion.

I love the play, but the finishing...
