Stepan appears to be drunk, pouliot reverting to old ways and we know we won't get any help from the refs. Having said all that, we are plaing the weakest playoff team and if we can't respond against them we have no shot in hell at the cup.

Stars and Wild in the West could be weaker. Detroit and Columbus could be weaker.

And it's all about match ups. So this isn't a very good statement.

why is everyone talking about the 3rd period. as far as I'm concerned their is still a 2nd period before anyone should be talking about trailing going into the 3rd. have some faith. You guys have less heart then anyone wearing blue on the ice today. yes that includes Rick Nash ( even though everyone loves to trash him)

Gotta agree with you there. Nash isn't a physical player - he never was. There have been some decent opportunities generated by him as well.

This is wrong the guy was using his body to shield the puck, fought for it, harassed puck carriers and once a game at LEAST he'd finish a check with a resounding thud. Was he physical enough to be considered the prototype power forward? No! But he was using his body for sure. He was playing with heart, like a leader, but he is demonstrating almost none of this now.

They are only down a goal...

if you can't score a friggin goal then it's time to pack it up anyway..

Holy ****, this thread is insane!

I'll see you guys in the PGT after we win. ;)

Atta boy. I'm 98% of the time right there with you. But for some reason, Giroux's embellishment really pissed me the **** off this time. Want to vent that off, and also the likely Flyer's break down of the game to hold the lead.

I ****ing hate the Flyers. But I have high hopes for the next 40.

Keep pressuring the Flyers D. In the first they were a turnover machine. If the trend continues, you gotta figure we'll pot a few in.

Anyways, if we continue to carry the play when the second starts it will be very encouraging. I just get that crummy feeling a mediocre goalie is going to be a god against us again tonight. Amazing how often that happens. Hope I'm wrong. And Giroux could literally take a puck in the teeth and I wouldn't waste an instant feeling sorry for him.

NBC must be a bunch of idiots for thinking Mason is playing good, too. :sarcasm:

Rangers hit one post and Zucc missed a wide open net. Mason has also been giving up long rebounds in the center of the ice. Hardly a great performance, so far.

Sure, I agree. But Poo can't put himself in that position in the first place. He's a ****ing idiot.

But, as a few will tell you, hockey sense doesn't matter. :sarcasm:

Oh, give it a rest dude. No one said hockey sense doesn't matter. Of course hockey sense matters. All aspects of the game matter.

Nash has never, ever been a big hitter.

They didn't look more dangerous in totality; they just looked more dangerous when they stole the puck -- though that was also situational (the Miller giveaway comes to mind).

Don't know how long you have watched hockey, but I think even a layman fan would tell you the Rangers absolutely dominated that period 5 on 5.

Miller's mistake and Stralman's at the end were glaring errors, but 90% of the 5 on 5 was Rangers.

The negativity here is unbelievable.. One goal down and giving up. Everybody sucks, heh? Let's just hope the players doesn't think the way some of you guys are.

This game is very winnable. Yeah, Pouilot took a bad penalty, Girardi was the reason for that goal, guys should have buried their chances. This is still a ONE goal game. First line will definitely get one tonight. Let's go Rangers!

I never took notice how much he dives.

Embarrassing how such skilled players have to play that way.

Just as long as we don't start settling for perimeter shots like we did in game 4, we should be able to break him.

I KNOW Rick Nash has another gear. When he's playing it safe, and floating into the zone, he isn't effective.

Think about how he played in that Columbus game. He was FLYING out there, dominating everyone, hustling, hitting, FIGHTING (even though we don't want him king this)

Think about the last 30 seconds of the game when he was dominating that shift, looking completely different from the rest of the game.

Is it his fitness? Does he conserve his energy all game to save it for specific bursts when scoring opportunities present themselves?

He is a big dude, but he can be more effective and he HAS to be more effective.
