And yet once again, the pundits predicting McDavid hitting 150 points are wrong.

Only 4 points in his last 5 and 12 in his last 10. Good, but not the generational level we expect.

Robertson (who?) about to pass him in points and Horvat, yes, Bo Horvat, now has more goals.

This happens every year with his hot start and inevitable cliff fall while he cruises and wins the art Ross by 4-5 points.

Say what you want but he’s not that far off his peers. Still the best, but might not even win the Ross with other players out playing him.

Dudes won FOUR Art Rosses in his young career and is on pace to win his fifth. Sure, Robertson is close this year and Horvat is scoring better than he ever has, but where were they last year? Where will they be next year? Where’s Kucherov the last couple years?

The separation between him and his peers is apparent when you don’t use a dumb 20 game sample size.

McDavid is amazing and, by a massive margin, the best player in the league (and absolutely deserving of the term "generational").

But, in a way, you are right. Every year, come October/November, I hear about how McDavid is going to prove he's "better than Gretzky" and score 150 points. And, yet, it never happens.

One day, people will realize there is/was only one Gretzky.

Yes McDavid has slumps...not sure why this is news to you...12 points in 10 games as a slump isn't to shabby though.

I agree. Kane leaving may have had something to do with it as well as that scrub Finnish player has 0 points in his last 15 games.

It’s crunch time though. Can’t get out scored by Jason Robertson 😹
Both aren't helping. Talk about points and goals at seasons end, 20 game stretches are great but they don't win Art Rosses or Rocket Richards. Robertson is a great young player btw, props to him for lighting it up early, hopefully he can top 50 this year.

That's the thing. McDavid "slumping hard" still can lead the league in production lol. Then he will get hot again and go 2-3 PPG for a while like clockwork. You have other guys who creep up, but cannot do it over any long periods.

The cream always rises to the top fellas. Most guys that have HOT INSANE starts will not keep up. They get their 15 min and go ack to their average selves.

His greatest attributes are his acceleration and puck control, once the rest of the league settles in he’s a little easier to contain. He still leads the league in points even after his cold spells, I don’t think too many people are worried about his production

Nice attempt at humor...

I would tread wearily. 4 points in his last 5 games and he’s looked terrible. Ever since the AZ where he was fighting the puck he looked mentally fragile

You know who Horvat has more goals than too? Austin Matthews. Does this mean Matthews isn’t as good of a scorer and not generational like you think?

Yeah he's brutal. Odds on favorite to win his 5th Art Ross in 8 seasons. Who wants that on their team?

No, because Matthew’s isn’t close to what everyone says McDavid is. And Horvat is a 2C at best. My point is if McDavid is so good why is lowly Bo Horvat out scoring him

Every squirrel finds a nut here and there. Contract year. Look at his shooting % too.

Please list what Horvats numbers have been the last 5 years as well.

here is what makes 97 what he is.

Who are you going to bet say 1 million dollars on to win an Art Ross before a year starts? McDavid or a guy like Bo Horvat, Roberston, etc?

How do feel about Aaron Judge ? There was those 3 games in a row he didnt hit a homerun

He was great last year after Kane was signed and he was great this year until Kane was injured. Kane obviously carries him. Soon he will probably be on the line with DRAI again because he can't score without other star player. Good player but don't compare him to Crosby
