It has never been about Matthews and never will be. That's not my point. McDavid is better and always will be.

My point is he cannot outscore Bo Horvat, a third line center. That's all. Not sure how that is hard to accept. Furthermore for the ones questioning my intelligence, my family nd friends have consistently called me one of the smartest people they have ever met. I have two degrees and working on a third... I read about 100 non fiction books a year and many of them about hockey. So maybe you guys are the wrong ones.

He is not generational yet.
That has got to be part of a Fantasy novel.

What are you doing here with us hoi polloi?

Imagine 12 points in 10 games being a slump. McDavid, in my opinion, is absolutely a generational talent. The things he can do on the ice are unreal. Let’s not nickel and dime greatness.

How am I moving them? Just coming up with some other reasons why he is slowing down. However there seems to be an excuse every year
Seriously?

A self-proclaimed smart person would not need to ask that question...

Unless it's another attempt at humor, in which case you're now at 1.25/4.

Cale Makar also says “hi.”
I understand why people say this but it really is different pedigrees.

Ovechkin, Crosby, and McDavid were all considered locks to go #1 at least 2 years before their draft year. Makar didn't go first overall.

Ovechkin, Crosby, and McDavid were all elite from the moment they were eligible for the NHL. Makar spent his first two eligible years not in the NHL.

Makar's first truly elite year was 2020-21. It was his fourth potential NHL year. He didn't win the Norris, but finished second.

By end of year 4 of being NHL eligible
Ovechkin had won 2 Harts, 2 Pearsons, and an Art Ross.
Crosby won an Art Ross, Pearson, and Hart. He won a Cup and made another Cup Final.
McDavid won 2 Art Rosses, 2 Pearsons, and a Hart.
Makar won no major trophies.

That's not a knock on Makar. But it's just a different degree of competition.

Do you think anybody cares about your life LMAO

What possess people to start threads with blatantly shitty premises? OP could have started a thread about McDavid's scoring pace without implying he isn't living up to expectations with his production.

I know your post is sarcasm, but what does it have to do with this thread? SH points have never been an indicator of how good a player is

Except for a few nerds on the internet, neither have even strength points. There are no player awards for "even strength points", and a goal on the power play is just as valuable for your team as one at even strength. A player's HHOF page doesn't differentiate either.

BTW, In 7 seasons McDavid has led the league in even-strength points four times. In 17 seasons Crosby has led the league in even-strength points...once.

And yet once again, the pundits predicting McDavid hitting 150 points are wrong.

Only 4 points in his last 5 and 12 in his last 10. Good, but not the generational level we expect.

Robertson (who?) about to pass him in points and Horvat, yes, Bo Horvat, now has more goals.

This happens every year with his hot start and inevitable cliff fall while he cruises and wins the art Ross by 4-5 points.

Say what you want but he’s not that far off his peers. Still the best, but might not even win the Ross with other players out playing him.

Faux Leaf fan out here

How is this shitty? Its a fact he is not. He is the so called best player in the world. Maybe you should think before you post or ill teach you a lesson myself.

I don't bet on players resigning I bet in the big moments such as games 7 and winter classics
So what you’re saying is you’re not always right?
