McDavid heating up, what are odds on 150 points this season?

He’s paced for 150+ several times now in the first half (excluding the covid season), yet he has never actually hit 150 (or even approached it). What does that tell you?
McDavid has never paced for 150+ points over the first half of a season.

When did Mcdavid become a diver? Why are there clowns on here calling mcdavid a diver?
Do you morons not realize how long he has been interfered with and no calls have been made?

Mcdavid is the most advanced player of all time. He is the best player in the world and will go down as a top 3 player. Get over, you twats.

Mcdavid will make 150 points, he will score 60 to 70 goals.

Its mostly jealous Flames fans that I have seen calling McDavid a diver. The butt hurt is real.

Garbageyuk is exaggerating and not putting in the work, despite how we can all fairly easily check him on it.

He’s referring to McDavid notching 42 points in his first 22 games last season (156 point pace) and 43 points in the first 23 games of the 2019-2020 season (153 point pace). Hardly the several times he’s trying to claim to illustrate his imaginary point.

McDavid is already up to 54 points in his first 28 games this season, which is his best and most extended start to a season yet.

Enjoy it as it unfolds, Garbageyuk. We see this so rarely and I don’t understand the stance of making things up to try and back your position.

I think he’ll get around 55 goals/85 assists. I’d love to see him get 60+ goals and 150 points but he’d have to have a lot of luck shooting. Right now he’s shooting at 22% so he’d be on pace for 50 goals at his career shooting percentage. With his crazy goal scoring start I think he’ll still get 55 but more is unrealistic imo and you can’t expect his assists per game to get much higher.

He won’t reach 150; that was my point. You can disagree if you want to, just make sure to come back to this thread at the end of the season.

Make sure to come back to this thread with this same bravado when you’re wrong at the end of the season so we can all have a good laugh. Every year people say he’s going to hit 150. Hasn’t happened yet.

It's going to be a tall order but there are certainly more reasons to think he could this year than in other years, The first being the Oilers schedule. The remaining 54 games include a substantially greater portion against teams in the bottom half of the league in GA than the first 28 did. These include a lot of games vs teams he traditionally feeds on.

Secondly, Nuge's play probably means he stays together with Leon for most of the remaining time until Kane is back. In the past he had pretty significant streaks where his linemates were guys without much scoring ability. He's come through that period already early on in the season.

Lastly, he probably the healthiest he has been in his career.

If you already won’t acknowledge that he hasn’t been on pace for 150 points in the first half several times as you stated, that doesn’t bode well for you returning to this thread later on.

Don’t worry, I’ll be back even if he falls short of the finish line with 149.

McDavid is NOT on pace for 150 points. Just stop already. There are other players in the NHL right now that are playing better then him against way better teams.
Woot! This is jokes.

I got to ask, who is playing better then McDavid, and which teams played against way better teams. Oilers have had one of hardest schedules to start season, and have an easier back half, by far.

So please explain yourself here please. As I have a hard time believing you actually watch much hockey outside of the Leafs with such statements

He has been because this thread gets made every year. Maybe not exactly at the halfway point, but he is usually pacing for 150+ part way through the season early on, this thread gets made, some posters insist he will keep up the pace and reach 150, and then he doesn’t. Every year (except the covid season). Yes it has happened several times now, and you know it.

Let’s make an over/under bet at 130 points, if you’re so confident. I don’t think he breaks 130.

I do my own research and I go through the game logs myself. Your flawed perception on him pacing for 150 points in the first half several times based on you thinking he does it year after year, combined with other posters making threads, doesn’t make it true.

You insist on excluding the 2020-2021 season, so there’s just six other seasons before this one to mine data from. I pointed out that McDavid had a 150 point pace in 2019-2020 and 2021-2022 through 23 and 22 games, respectively. That’s two instances. They are the only two instances of a decent portion of games in the first half of a season where he has paced for such a total and cooled down overall. They meet the requirements that you laid out of being in the first half, the peak of his season PPG, and not necessarily being a hard cut off at game 41. It doesn’t matter if you think that he has done so based off your perception and some others if it is factually wrong.

I know all this because I take the time to check myself before commenting on these matters.

Yes, if McDavid plays all 82 games, 131 is the minimum he reaches this season. He needs 77 points in 54 games to do so.

I’m not too concerned that a player with a career PPG of 1.458 and has averaged 1.605 PPG over his last 347 games is going to fail to register the 1.426 PPG needed through the final 54 games to get a minimum of 131 points.

He needs to change somethings about his game before he can truly be considered the best.
