McDavid heating up, what are odds on 150 points this season?

I don’t know why but knowing Connors current pace and the fact he just hit 50 so fast, the year end projections don’t feel all the impressive.

Well just think if he keeps up his pace of the last 4 games then he ties Gretzky's record for 92 goals in a season.

I just looked at the Boston's goals against and McDavid was definitetly not even responsible for 2 of them and the one where he did have a giveaway was just a small turnover in the Bruins zone then he rushes back to defend and takes the proper man while Kulak literally leaves the middle of the ice for Foligno to streak down lmao.
The problem is you don't understand the sport. McDavid initially (and incorrectly) chases behind Foligno when he has the angle and position to cut off Coyle on the wing. Kulak sees that his teammate is not going to be able catch up and impact the play so he plays it like a 2-on-1 because McDavid took the wrong guy to begin with. Now Kulak certainly should have stayed much closer to Foligno, but it's hard to take someone's opinion on this topic seriously when they don't pick up on this.

And I have no idea what 97 was doing defensively on the 3rd Boston goal.

ah yes cover the guy near the blue line not the guy going straight down the middle of the ice that McDavid had no hope of catching got it.

Mogilny had 51 goals by the end of February that season too.

Was he injured most of the rest of the year or did he hit a long slump? With that pace and it being the 1996 season you'd think Mogilny would finish with close to 70.

As impressive as McDavid is, he continues to impress.

There was always the question if his goal scoring ability would be good enough to hit 50 in his career. He has obliterated that, and now we will see how high he can push it this year.

I'm guessing around 135, unfortunately. Games will get tighter and fatigue is a factor. No one has hit 150+ since like, what, 1996? Safe bet it doesn't occur again.

You think he only gets 20 points in his last 21 games?

He has 40 in his last 21.

He had 38 in his last 21 last year.

If he plays 82 he hits 145-155.

That's 20 points in his last 21 games. For any number of players that's a respectable estimate, but looking at his career splits that's less likely happening than him hitting 150.

At this point he’d have to go just under point per game with 20 in his last 21 to hit 135 on the nose. It’s not impossible, but I think it’s pretty unlikely he’s under 140 at this point unless he misses time
