Was thinking Boston could at least contain him since they're the best team in the league record wise but he's torching them too.

50 goals isn’t bad for a playmaker
4 two goal games in a row. Skimming through Lemieux and Gretzky's game logs and I see Lemieux with 5 in 1988-89. Can't find 4 in a row for Gretzky yet but he probably did it at some point.
Seems like a goal per game could be done at this point lol

Genuinely the best player in my lifetime. I was born in 91, so Gretzky’s best years were already well behind him by the time I was old enough to slightly understand the game.
He was the better player last season, that's all I said.

Helping with some of the lifting here. Found Gretzky with 2, 3, 2, 2 from 10/16/84 through 10/21/84. Didn’t see him do 4 or more games in a row with at least 2 goals anywhere else during all his Oilers seasons.

Yeah it's not even close. There's a sizeable gap between McDavid and anyone else, and the fact that he's so consistent just hammers that home.
Gretzky had 4 in a row during 1984-85. Him and Lemieux each included a hat trick in their streaks.
