McDavid heating up, what are odds on 150 points this season?

It's depressing that McDavid has to literally ascend to another level yet again to drag his team to the playoffs but he, as usual, is doing it.

Putting up 3 and 4 point games where he could easily have 6+ every night like it's nothing for him. Just an insane level of dominance. Tough stretch coming up against Boston/Toronto/Winnipeg but with 11 in the past 3, it makes 150 points a lot more likely than it seemed just 1 week ago.

It is stupid how good he is. Seriously it isn't even fair. That is how much better he is than anyone else.

It is also sad how f***ing bad Oilers are. It is basicly McJesus and Drai. Rest are there just to skate and trying to prevent opposing team scoring.
And Hyman/RNH/Kane... but other than those 5, you're right.

He needs 43 points in the last 22 for 156 points aka the highest point total by someone not Gretzky or Mario. The Oilers will likely need him for games 81 & 82 since I doubt they'll have a playoff spot locked down

McDavid’s usual last 20-25 game heater has evidently begun.
Combined with the Oilers missing playoffs?

He's got his thousand points today but his team lost again.

It's fair because it's compensated by the rest of the team.

You’re really exposing yourself with how little or not at all that you watch these games.

In what realm is McDavid’s 2 goals and 4 points while being +3 on a team that let up 6 goals remotely his fault? Are you also someone who has never seen him play in person and parrots the same mantra from anyone who doesn’t study every second of what he’s doing on the ice that television camera angles simply do not afford the luxury of?

And these missing the playoffs comments all season long have gotten so old. The Oilers have been in playoff position the entire season and are 4th in the Western Conference even with this disappointing loss.

depth players have been pulling their weight for a while now if you actually WATCH the games. Dont ignore players like Hyman and Nuge who are having career years too

Wuuuuuu! Couple players!

Look at teams that win Stanley cups. Oilers are far away from teams like that. I seriously hope he leaves Oilers after his deal ends.

You're really exposing yourself as someone who didn't read what I said. Where did I say the loss was his fault? My (and everybody else's) point is: he got a bunch of points but his team lost. No more, no less.

"Comments about them missing playoffs are getting old"? Guess what: they will stop the day they make playoffs. And they won't stop if they don't make playoffs. That's how it works.

If that’s truly your motive, it is a completely pedantic “point” that has no weight or deep insight attached to it. We can all go to NHL.com to look at boxscores and statistics.

Everyone knows though that you are trolling, your weak attempts at deflection notwithstanding. At least own up to it it that’s your end game.

Wow, this and your prior comment were really illuminating then. Cool commentary.

My "motive" is the same as everybody else's here: discussing hockey on the internet.

Don't tell me what to do, and I won't tell you where to go.

So you make comments about every team in the league not making the playoffs as of today?
Are you being intentionally obtuse or is this some kind of humor I'm missing.
It's closer to the latter but not exactly.

In the Oilers thread, I'm making a comment about Oilers. I'll make the same comment in the Red Wings thread if they don't make playoffs. Again, that's how it works.

25 up on second place in points and 32 points up on third place. o_O

yeah, and add Kane, Kostin, McLeod, Janmark... even Foegeles been on a heater lately. They have solid depth and those guys have done their part. Problem is they need to find Nurse a better pairing. Skinner should be starting over Campbell too. Maybe actually watch the games instead of running with narratives. And yeah the Oilers arent among the top candidates to win a cup but this is the NHL, anything can happen if certain players get hot in teh right time.

It's a new season. Get it? lol.

They are still 6 points up on Calgary who is the only team that can knock them out.

The Oilers have had dreadful goaltending Jack Campbell would have problems stopping a beach ball right now.

McDavid is on pace for a feat that hasn’t been done since 95-96 and before that 86-87. Out score the next best player (non teammate) by 40 points. By the way only Two guys named Gretzky and Lemieux have ever done it. I think
