Bitter about Hyman so drawing attention to Campbell. We get it.
Who's bitter? The Oilers can have both of them. They're sure serving the team well right now, hanging on to 8th place and all.

Lemieux’s career feasted on the PP.
I think 42% of his points were on the power play.
Should we regard a six point California tour as barely satisfactory? A lot of one point games lately and "only" ten points in the last seven games. Outstanding production — unless you're aiming at something that's not been done in 25+ years.
Amazing season by McDavid. Never thought I would ever see any player have these kind of numbers in the NHL again.
Why would you think that with the way scoring has been increasing? If McDavid wasn't scoring as much as he is now then he wouldn't even be as dominant as peak Crosby and Ovechkin.
Quoted from the article:
"In his abbreviated comeback season of 2000-01:
• Lemieux led the NHL in goals-per-game (0.81) while Pavel Bure, the league’s leading goal-scorer that season (59), was second (0.72).
• Lemieux led the NHL in assists-per-game (0.95) while Adam Oates and his own teammate Jaromir Jagr tied for second (0.85).
• Lemieux led the NHL in points-per-game (1.77) while Jagr finished second (1.49).
Had Lemieux played in all 82 games that season, he would have been on pace for 144 points. The person who ended up winning the scoring race that season was Jagr, who finished with 121 points. Joe Sakic finished second to Jagr with 118 points, while no one else hit the 100-point plateau...
...this is a 35-year-old who missed three years of hockey, had two back surgeries, and went through radiation treatment for Hodgkin’s disease."
He's scoring considerably higher relative to the League than either of those players has in a full season. Interested in seeing how things play out. If he does reach 150 points, I think it would definitely be a better offensive season than any from Ovie or Sid. 2021 already is, but people bring up the fact that all games were Divisional that year.

Crosby had a 17.6% gap over 5th in '06-'07 when he won the Art Ross
Crosby had a 26.8% gap over 5th in '13-'14.
McDavid had a 59.1 gap over 5th in '20-'21.
McDavid has a 41.4% gap over 5th currently.
McDavid is on a level that's right in the middle between Crosby/Ovechkin and Lemieux/Gretzky.
And you could say the same thing about Crosby and Ovechkin themselves after 41 and 52 games...
Actually Ovechkin after 52 games in 2009-10 before the Olympic break was further ahead of the rest of the NHL in points than Crosby or McDavid have ever been after 40-50 or so games.
That's not exactly a crazy argument though. We don't have another season like that to compare it to. I also think McDavid is a better offensive player than either of them, I just think there isn't much of a gap there until proven otherwise.
You're comparing smaller amounts of games from McDavid to full seasons from Crosby. Crosby in 2010-11 was further ahead of 2nd, 5th, 10th and 30th than McDavid is this season, I already posted the stats showing this. Ovechkin in 2009-10 was further ahead than both of them after 52 games.
You won't win, that dude is still living the Crosby grace period memeCrosby was ahead of who in '10-'11? Crosby played 41 games, see above why you don't extrapolate playing half a season, comparing to players who played a full season and treating it like gospel. '20-'21 was a a shortened season, players were prepared to play 56 games, so there was no advantage over other players.
In '10-'11, start of season to January 5th.
Crosby 66 points. Sedin 50 points. That's a 32% gap. I'm fairly certain 41% is a higher number than 32%.
Except that’s not true. Dominant yes, but not as much as you remember and not as much as McDavid’s 2020-2021 campaign or the season he is actively working on that proves that season was no mere fluke due to COVID scheduling.
This is from the beginning of the season up to the break for the Winter Olympics in the 2009-2010 season.

Terrific season, but I’m not seeing how he was further ahead of the NHL in points than McDavid who already has an Art Ross win under his belt of 21 points more than his teammate and 36 points more the closest non-teammate was a couple of seasons ago or this season.

Ovechkin’s PPG was 32% higher than the next 7 players in PPG you have listed there. Currently McDavid is 31% higher than the next 7 players in PPG. Not the be all statistic, but while not more dominant, Ovechkin’s per game production was ahead of the pack by a similar amount. McDavid was more dominant over the pack in ‘21 though

I posted PPG to be nice because I recognize that Ovechkin played a handful of games less than others (pretty sure some of these were due to suspensions, so there’s some control there).
He’s literally talking about a raw point total lead.
“Ovechkin was further ahead of the rest of the NHL in points etc…”
I bring up that Ovechkin season all the time quite glowingly, but you know I’m going to call out falsehoods like that when we’re witnessing a player in real time flexing his dominance again in a way only rivaled by the Big Four.
How was it not more dominant then?
There’s no statistical significance to it. It’s basically the same
Oh I was assuming you meant McDavid was more dominant. This is exactly the point I'm arguing that Video Nasty doesn't seem to get. Other than that shortened season where no one played outside their division which we never saw how Crosby or Ovechkin would do under those circumstances, McDavid's offensive performance has not shown to be even slightly more dominant than any of Crosby or Ovechkin's best seasons after the same amount of games. I think some posters really just don't get it lol

I can only go off what you type. When you type things that happened in reality like “points”, I’m not going to always assume you mean that you want to talk about fantasy land what if totals.
We’re actively watching a 140-150 point in progress from a player who already has 4 Art Rosses and a dominant 2020-2021 campaign that is now being confirmed as “legitimate” by McDavid’s current play since this is a normal regular season.
Enjoy it people!
I'm enjoying it, you don't seem to be enjoying that I'm pointing out other seasons have been just as dominant on a points per game basis by Crosby and Ovechkin. That's all that's going on here
