Yet they're in the 3rd Round. If winning was so easy our group of 10+ million Superstars would've gone there already. Apparently winning is easy with loads of excuses for other teams but when it comes to the Leafs the excuses are always why they lost and shouldn't have.

In case you haven't figured this out yet our group of "stars" is getting big bucks to perform in the regular season. The playoffs on the other hand are about pride which is in very short supply when you're being coddled by management.

Besides that the north division is kind of like the AHL compared with the other 3 divisions. The habs are going to find that out in the next round.

You guys shut down Matthews because he's the only shooting threat on that line, and still he got 30 plus shots while shooting at less than 3%...Hyman and Marner could barely hit the net chance after chance...MacKinnon, Rantanen and Landeskog are all big, play big, and could shoot the puck...it won't be so easy to shut down that line.

Agree next year is another story playing back in NHL again .. neither Habs or Leafs stand a chance in h*ll of making playoffs .. i was talking about this AHL season .. Mitch is another story as he lacks physical skills to perform in playoffs

they were able to shut down the jets, so it is possible to shut down the avs , i just hope that the avs and vegas play 7 games of exhausting hockey, matthews was not the only threat on the team, some guy named Nylander showed up.

Remember that Columbus supposedly shut down the leafs top line the year before. If it happens 5 times in a row then the common denominator is the leafs top line. Not the Habs or Blue Jackets.

Montreal beat Winnipeg because Winnipeg isn't a great hockey team and are especially thin on D. Take away Scheifele and they fall apart. That's entirely predictable.

Colorado or Vegas who won't be getting outworked will pick apart Montreal.

I'm starting to question the whole "choke" narrative as well. A "choke" would suggest something happening that was unusual or unexpected. What the leafs did in the playoffs fits into a 5 year pattern of behaviour that suggest this team isn't particularly interested in having a long playoff run.

Why? Well if you're getting paid big money to score 40 goals or 90 points in the regular season then why would you risk injury over 20 hard fought playoff games that could jeopardize your next contract in 3 or 4 years? You wouldn't. The reality is that not all players are motivated to win in the playoffs. It's not a given like it was 30 years ago.

Furthermore you have a coach and management team that coddles you and gives you affirmation for just showing up.

It's completely ridiculous and Larry Tannenbaum has to put an end to the madness.

Tavares is another regular season player, minus stats in the playoffs, habs without drouin who was a point producer and a plus player in da playoffs last year, which is more than Tavares.
