Congrats to all Russians and Russia fans. But man, butthurt is strong with those finns :D

Also must be great feeling for Tikhonov watching his grandson receive gold medal

Congrats to Russia. Best team on paper and ice. Terrible reffing left a bad taste in mouth, however. I thought 5on5 we were actually the better team.

Too many posts to read everything and this has probably been discussed about already but how did the refereeing seem like to any non Finnish or non Russians this game?

I know blaming refs is the oldest cliche, but didn't the refereeing look quite bad? Some little help to the Russians maybe to make Putin happy or refs being afraid of keeping their jobs under the pressure?

not going to go into any tinfoil hat conspiracy (that way leads to madness)... it simply felt like Russia had home ice advantage (which they kind of did) and the refs were swayed by the crowd.

Rinne showing again he's one of the best goalies in the world. We're going home after the premilinary round without him.

I never would've imagined this team would be in the final. Great work by the team once again and I'm sorry I didn't believe in you. The way the final went left a sour taste but Russia completely deserved the gold. They were clearly the best team in the tournament and even the little chance we had went away with the undisciplined penalties. It's odd because usually we're very disciplined.

honestly, it was painful to watch our hockey. Finns have a system, we don't.

They easily wre entering our zone, they were faster, and outplayed us 5v5. Then it was mad up call, 5v3 and we scored.

I don't like this win.
You're the only unbiased Russian around here... You're not really Russian are you?

Without 2 last out-of-frustration penalties it was 12-14 btw. But Russia scored 4 PP goals and Finland 1. I can't understand this bad officiating whining.

Does anyone think Prague can eclipse this attendance record by Minsk in terms of attendance, it's been eclipsed each time an event has been held there and even the TSN commentator said, if you go to any World Championships, you go to Prague. Should be a doozy 2015, World Juniors record should be broken and then perhaps World Championships, what a year it's setting up to be!

We were better 5 vs 5. Too many penalties and we lost. Congratulations Russia. Next year will be our year. Amazing tournament for our guys. They did everything they can on the ice. They never give up. It is what warms my heart most.

Why did Karalahti give the medal presenter a death look while receiving his Silver, who was that guy?

The president of the Finnish Hockey Federation and the vice president of the IIHF. Knowing both men it would not surprise me one bit if there was bad blood between them.

The Russians did seem to fall down rather easily at times. Still, it's not much of an excuse.

I am pretty sure they can't. They won't fill up the O2 arena for a Fra-Ita game as nicely as it was done here...

I hope they do. In general this tournament is a lot better in Central and Eastern Europe. Nordic countries have the interest but it's too much of a money grab here, unfortunately. No enthusiasm in the crowds when you have to pay 50 euros for a relegation round game and beer costs 8 euros. Love watching these games when the stands are full in all games like they were this year.

Prague seems like a great city to visit for fans and every team ought to be better on paper so I wouldn't be surprised.

That's not all there is to that of course.

If not, the 2017 one should be record breaking though.
