Latvia would have had a chance if they could score a single goal, you can't have multiple 5 on 3 chances. That whining about refs is sweet.

Ohh, come on. Be a man, and admit this was a clear goal..

Those kinds of goalie interference calls are always a little iffy, but they happen regularly. If you have your foot in the crease while screening the goalie you always risk that happening. Sucks for Latvia, but no need to cry about corruption or whatever.

4. If an attacking player stands or holds his stick in the goal crease when the puck
enters the goal net, unless he has been physically interfered with, by the action
of any defending player so as to cause him to be in the goal crease when the puck
enters the goal net, unless if in the opinion of the Referee, he had sufficient time
to get out of the crease or unless Rule 470 applies.

check rules first
when the puck was entering the net his skates were clearly in the crease

that's from iihf
section 4

That must be a hard one to swallow for the Latvians. Hard to say if it was a good call or not. Anyone in the know? Official seemed really sure that it was an offside in the crease. You could clearly see one skate in there but is that enough?

At least there was no problem with this goal.

They had one 5 on 3 power-play and scored on it. If you're going to argue, at least stick with facts.

Meh, as I said previously - enjoy while it lasts, Belarus! Refs won't bail you out all the time.

Maybe you should add few more Canadians to your roster, so you wouldn't have to play like crap in 2nd and 3rd :sarcasm:

That would have been a goal in the NHL, I'm not sure about European rules. You know, that Tyutin goal against the US at the Olympics also would have been a goal in NA.
I could recall a few borderline calls that favored Latvia as well. You've got 5 on 3 opportunity out of nowhere, and I still have no idea how did Latvia get PP out of the scrum in the 2nd period.
You've lost and don't blame the refs. You should have started to play the game since beginning.

We scored 5 on 3, someone already told you.

And if you wanna talk so much about playing right, and deserving the win. How about your team playing only one period and then sitting in their own zone? If we do that in the first period we don't deserve the win, if you do that in 2nd and 3rd, you do. Great logic.

So two wrongs make a right?

No, it just means there are too many wrongs with refereeing in this tournament. Disregard the conspiracy theories about favoring one nation over the others, though. Almost everyone has suffered from refs one way or another. That's the point.
