same as montreal wouldn't trade caufield for three comtois
That's a lie. You might if you're obsessed with the prospect but no one in professional hockey would.

Wonder who still does it? Anaheim surely does it but what would need to be the add from Anaheim to get Montreal to bite?

Maybe Comtois+Thrun for Caufield+small add?

At 23 years old, don't see Comptois having that much value.

Sure he has been scratched but I would be really surprised if we move him right now. He is having a really bad year, but he was our best scorer just last year.
Can't say I know what Verbeek is thinking though.

If for some reason we do move him, I wonder if something with DeBrusk would be doable.

He would be a great pickup for the Islanders because the American translation of his French name describes their season perfectly. Maximum Comitose

Not sure what Anaheim would be looking for? Not sure why they'd consider moving him in the first place...
No way we're trading Caufield for Comtois. Caufield is a hot commodity since St.Louis took over while Comtois is very struggling this year.
Perhaps a trade around Poehling + one of our LHD prospect (Norlinder, Harris or Struble).
Poehling might not be a sexy name right now , but I think he has untaped potential. Big, rangy center that skates really well. He's been playing mostly 4th line this season, but he could very well end up as a good 3rd line center.

Devils need a player like Comtois. I just don’t see the Ducks moving him short of an overpayment . What do the Ducks need ?
What off the Devils would it take ?
Devils have a few LHD and forward prospects to offer (not named Mercer Gritsyuk and Holtz)

That's not even in the ball park.

The only way I see this happening is for another player in a similar situation. Not sure what ANA wants though... doesn't seem like the right time

Ok, care to elaborate...? Obv that's not an overpayment which I doubt you'd get considering how bad he's been this year.

Poehling has not demonstrated that he is anything other than a 4th line C (with potential to be a 3C) and Norlinder/Struble/Harris are wild cards. Comtois has already shown he he can be a top-6 forward. They aren't selling low on him and especially for what you offered. And i am a Habs fans i find that offer ridiculous...

I understand he is a perimeter player without the skill to be successful. You can’t fix that. To compete you have to go to the dirty areas.

Perhaps you always see the grass greener elsewhere... maybe it would require a bit better prospect, but I dont see Comtois as a top6 forward yet. It's not absoluetely ridiculous to think that him and Poehling could have similar career althought Comtois has looked better in the past. ( Poehling was looking much better in 2018-2019, then Comtois looked much better last year, this year is a wash)

At the NHL level, Poehling has never looked like nor contributed anything close to a potential top-6 C. Comtois on the other hand had, and as recently as last season. He has had a setback this season but that doesn't take away what he has already accomplished.

Well , to me Poehling projects as a 2way 3rd line center 30-35pts while Comtois projects as a 45-50 pts 2nd line winger.
The season Comtois is having after a very strong yet shorten season is concerning. You pay for what you think you'll get out of the player.

You're entitled to your opinion , but I don't see the offer as ridiculous. It's very subjective how someone can perceive a prospect or young player going forward, I've always liked Poehling while I know it's not the case for many other habs fans.

What would be a reasonable offer in your opinion?

It would be something like Guhle. i.e. It would hurt.
