Only Canadian team would be Ottawa, they don’t have the room anymore really.Wonder what teams he would extend with. Assuming no Canadian teams.

I could see that. Not McTavish, but maybe Comtois, Zellweger, protected 1st and some salary considerations. The cost though. One of McTavish or Zellweger are going back. On top of your first next year. On top of another piece.
Do you really wanna pay that?
Agreed .. the NHL owners need to secure themselves an NFL style franchise tag in their next contract negotiations with the players. It's pretty ridiculous that two big time players can engineer their exit from a franchise with two weeks of one another. In all honesty, I feel for Flames fans...the entire situation sucks.
This is the worst off-season for the flames in my life. Way too much smoke on this issue to suggest he ain’t on the move at this point

Devils say hell no. Bratt is better than Tkachuk.Jesper Bratt + 2023 1st (top 5 protected), extensions in place all around
is that enough?
As optimistic as I am as a Devils fan talking about Jersey and then mentioning super teams is pretty ridiculous. Like we haven't even sniffed a playoff spot recentlyOh god. Tkachuk would be perfect for Jersey.
Please no. It’s bad enough with Colorado and Tampa. We don’t need more super teams.
Ottawa fan says no thank you.To Ottawa for Drake Batherson, Jake Sanderson and top 5 protected 1st 2023
NJ apparently offered 2OA for him so they're definitely interested. Fitz and Tkachuk are related and the Devs have the assets and space to make it happen. I'd be shocked if they're not involved.
I dunno if Id do that. maybe give u 1st overall protected but thats allJesper Bratt + 2023 1st (top 5 protected), extensions in place all around

1A. Anaheim - tons of young talent on the same timeline. The Zegras/Tkachuk pairing would be absolutely lethalSo easy to see landing spots currently
1. St louis- obvious connection
2. Ottawa - Brother plays there
3. New Jersey - Uncle is GM
Nah, we need Sanderson in Ottawa, concensus seem to be we need Sanderson to come as advertized AND add a top 4 D to be a playoff team this year and maybe a contender for the cup in a couple of years. Trading Sanderson ++ for MT seems like a bad deal and willput us in cap problems very soon...To Ottawa for Drake Batherson, Jake Sanderson and top 5 protected 1st 2023
But GMBT was so smart about itWe turned down the 2nd overall pick and cost ourselves Shane Wright.
Just Calgary Flames Things

You might get one of those assets in a deal for a guy about to be paid $9m a year.To Ottawa for Drake Batherson, Jake Sanderson and top 5 protected 1st 2023
Sadly, it's not even like the Flames can get top value trade wise. As mentioned he will only sign longer term with a team of his choosing or he can simply wait a year. Flames are in a no win situation here. No idea if it is Sutter related, but GM's have to be aware that players today are different. They won't tolerate playing for an old school coach when they have options.
The best fit is the Kraken but they need to keep their picks and prospectsSo which teams have cap space & make sense here?
