I'd have to embrace the rebuild immediately if I ran the Flames.
Frame this start as being necessary due to Johnny and Mathew "choosing" to leave.
You may not be able to fire sale this offseason, but pieces should be made available all year if teams come knocking.

This is the worst off-season for the flames in my life. Way too much smoke on this issue to suggest he ain’t on the move at this point

devils lost 2 star wingers 2 years in a row for nothing in return and are still rebuilding from it. At least Calgary might get something return for tkachuk instead of him signing for 1 year and walking for nothing.

I doubt it, I don't really think the market to pay a winger 9+ million is that competitive right now.

Losing Gaudreau was the one that hurt the most, you get nothing for him and all these other guys now want out as well(Well, only Tkachuk so far but others probably follow).

The Flames can go scorched Earth rebuild now if they want and get some really nice assets from a couple of guys anyway. At this point trading Tkachuk for a haul and Lindholm for another haul and rebuilding the forwards would be the smart play IMO.

This upcoming draft is a great one to get 2-3 1st round lottery tickets with. And both Tkachuk and Lindholm easily fetch 1st round picks ++
