You'll do everything except acknowledge that Tkachuk was tripped...is that how this works?

......I'm actually just point out facts. Brodie literally has his stick in Tkachuk's ankles even after he falls. This isn't some JFK type scenario. Brodie scoops out Tkachuk's ankles. Tkachuk falls. Pretty simple cause and effect. I literally just provided a photo clearly showing the stick across both ankles.

The actual NHL officials in charge of disciplining players have decided not to take action. What does that tell you?
Why do you think everyone minus a select few Flames fans disagree with you?

Baltimore-ish
Its all good Flame fans. Youre just playing your role and the cards that were dealt to you. But the neutral fans have spoken ... your boy is dirty and there is nothing more despised then taking shots at unsuspecting and vulnerable players. Hit a guy high, maybe your stick comes up .. okay at least its within the confines of the game.

This? This chicken crap move ... no one respects that.

Dirty player for sure.

worst part is he dives and flops more than any player I’ve seen.

I’d respect him more if he was a rugged tough dirty player like a Mark Messier but the dude turtles and crumbles like a fluff of cotton candy.

Who are these players that Tkachuk has injured? The worst thing he's ever done is the Doughty elbow, and the Doughty/Tkachuk physicality is hardly one sided.
False equivalency.

Physicality is a part of hockey. Tkachuk was suspended two games for a dirty elbow to the face of Doughty. As far as I know Doughty has never been suspended for anything he did to Tkachuk.

Leafs fans are engaging in exuberant amount of hyperbole. It's comical making such a huge deal of a player losing balance and falling on the goaltender. No one else is discussing it because it's such a minimal issue. Well, except Leafs fans and their media.

We've already had comparisons to the WWE. Apparently, it was a flying knee off the top ropes. Then Tkachuk grabbed a chair from the stands and hit Matthews with it from behind....IT WAS PANDEMONIUM ON THE ICE!!!

It's like dealing with Ralph Wiggum over here

What exactly in there is “holier than thou”?

To say wanting him to get punched is juvenile. No it’s not, and the implication is, your somehow better than every one by pointing out your superior feelings about this and calling anyone else who disagrees with you, juvenile. Fighting will always be apart of hockey. Don’t want to get punched, don’t cheap shot someone with the intent to hurt them. Don’t like the idea of someone getting punched for said cheap shot then find another hobby.

Can you point me to the Leafs media that has even brought this up?

You're right, Leafs fans are making a huge deal about it, and the media isn't even mentioning it.

So you may also be right that Leafs fans are whining about nothing. But I didn't witness nothing, I saw a deliberately violent knee to the head of our backup goalie, and apparently nothing is going to come of that.

So it's on the Leafs players to either do something or not. I'd rather win the next game though.

I hope Marchand licks someone again just so we get past this pure insanity.

Not to sound rude.. but how many people who think this was 'intentional' have skated at any sort of competitive level in ice hockey?

Tkachuk's one foot is off the ice cause he avoided stepping on Campbell's stick, then his other gets caught in between Campbell's stick and everyone else piling in, and once that single planted foot starts to move he has to swing his leg to keep from absolutely destroying his knee of the planted leg.

its a game of blades on ice and people wonder why a guy is falling down in a crease with 3-4 players packed in. And somehow people are able to claim intent?

again, not questioning peoples hockey intelligence but moreso their history of skating at any level past mens league

Well that’s not correct at all, I don’t think I’m better than anyone just because I’d rather people not get punched if there’s a way around it. I wish DOPS did their job. I also understand why retribution happens in the NHL and other leagues, but to WISH for it is juvenile which is my point that you and others seem to miss. And why do I have to find another hobby because I don’t like that? Many players throw cheap shots which you seem to have a problem with. Do you need a new hobby?

What are you talking about? Fans of other teams in this thread are saying it's a dirty hit. There's also no coverage about possible suspensions from Sportsnet or TSN. If you're gonig to lie at least try and make it believable.

Are you actually serious, he blatantly picks up both legs and lands on Campbells back.

What you provided was a photo of Brodie's stick on Campbell's back with Tkachuk on top of it. Try posting the photo of Tkachuk's left leg when he pulls it back and show us where Brodie's stick is. HINT - It's across Campbell's back.

Yeah youre right, he's Super Mario

again, what size skates do you rent when you go to free skate? Because if thats your opinion then thats clearly the extent of your ice skating experience

I played Junior, and going from a standing start to one leg being at face level behind you to landing on both knees is not an incidental fall, nor something you do trying to keep your balance/ protect yourself. It's a sell job

You can't even get which goalie it was correct, these are professional athletes that have been skating since they were 2-3 quit acting like he was pushed or had no where to go the clip is as clear as day.

Tkachuk only had one foot entirely
On the ice for that entire sequence, as he avoided stepping on Anderson's stick after he tips the puck.

he only swings his leg because his planted food got nudged. How do you , as a Junior player, expect your body to react when your single planted foot gets moved? Thats the golden way every hockey player lands on their ass, except Tkachuk is mid-play so hed rather fall forward.

Like I said, I don't know. There's so much chaos in the scrum that I cannot even begin telling if it was an accident or if Tkachuk jumped himself. The results are damning, but the circumstances just prior to it are kinda inconclusive. I've watched it a dozen times at slower speeds and I still don't fully get what's going on before he lands on Campbell. There seems to be quite a few different conclusions and many tiny details mentioned by other posters too.

As you guys said, it's kinda unnatural if it's unintentional. But to me it doesn't completely seem like a natural movement to jump that way either as an intentional move.

It's fair if you guys think if it's intentional, as a Flames fan, it's more of a prayer that it wasn't intentional.

I think it's entirely possible for him to fall. I don't question or have a problem with that. It's the backwards swing and drive of the leg you see in the other angle. That part has nothing to do with falling.

Anyone who thinks that was in any way, shape, or form intentional just has none or is lying about their ice skating experience

Get a room to cry about it too, theres a reason no Leafs brass has brought it to anyones attention.

Would you stop spewing bullshit? Jesus f***ing christ, Tkachuk did it on purpose. Anyone trying to weasel their way out of it is being obtuse on purpose. You're telling me there was nothing else that professional hockey player Matthew Tkachuk could do besides double-knee fall on Campbell's back/head? This thread is ridiculous. We know Tkachuk did it on purpose. We know nothing will come of it. Let's just agree that it was a dirty play by a dirty player and move on.

This talking point is stupid, and frankly so are people who bring it up. "You never played at a high level you can't possibly understand the complex mechanics of moving your feet on the ice." Do you use this drivel to say unless someone's been shot they can't possibly understand the damage a bullet can do?
