The only thing coming Poitras way after game number 9 is a well earned promotion to the first line with more PP and PK time.
Id keep him up. He has the smarts and skill.
I would however closely watch his stamina and recovery.
He’s never played more than 68 games in a season.
He may need a breather upstairs now and then.

They'll probably be better off burning a year and getting him to a cheaper post-ELC contract. They won big time with Pastrnak doing that.

Seen them all and I agree. Although he’s looked fabulous throughout, last night imo was his best all around game. The kid was on it offensively and defensively.

Holy crap, that’s insane. Even if they aren’t directly related, can you imagine this board if Heinen plays regularly and Poitras is sent down? Halloween-worthy scary!
Well if they were 50/50 Friday, that’s not good. I would have thought 95/5 him staying and he had a strong game last night. And as much as I like Heinen (I honestly do like the player) I would not swap Poitras for him under any circumstances.

I can't see Poitras going back to the OHL.
There isn't anyone on Providence who brings what he brings. Only a proven NHLer would bring that and it would come at a high trade cost and a much higher cap hit.

Each time I come back in this thread I see this photo. What a really great one. !! Those vintage photo are absolutely gorgeous.So would an Orr #27 jersey.
IMO they will keep him for multiple reasons.
a) he plays great
b) seems really mature.
c) produces
d) fans just love him... himself is great story
e) might get more responsibility as the season goes.
