Idk if I see Nylander as a Bruin haha, he’s gonna get crazy overpaid as well, I think I’d pass. Bruins fans that think Pasta is soft he would drive them crazy.

Might as well close up the boards then case is closed lol

I get that perspective, but he’s still likely to be a point plus per game forward for the next 5-7 years, IMO.

Taking that away from Toronto and adding it here is a good move , IMO.

Plus, like with Pasta, I think he can improve the physicality aspect of his game.

He‘ll never be a Tkachuk or even a Marchand, but in this version of the NHL,he’s a commodity and guys who can put up points like that are important to have.

This is true. This is Don Sweeney's kind of player.

I‘m hoping, maybe against hope, that an effort will be made next year to balance things out in regard to physical players and finesse ones.

Every team has their finesse guys, I’d just rather a few of ours score 80+ points.

Just telling you what I see. Most top playmaking centers have better sense, even at this young age.

Not many 19 year olds make the NHL, however stuck for C help the Bruins are.

Poitras is willing to go to "the dirty areas," overcame various obstacles to make the club, and does not unravel upon mistakes. Rather, he is mentally strong enough to place them aside and keep at it, often contributing on the score sheet in their wake.

To me, he's a keeper ahead of the curve.

We'll see.

Yeah we will see.

Pasta got pushed around a lot his 1st and second year. (Not that Poitras is going to be that good)
He's a kid, with a kids body and strength against men in the highest hockey league in the world.
It's that hockey IQ in the O zone and the competitiveness, that you can't teach, that will help him stick as he "grows up".

The kid makes super passes every game night. With the right and consistent fit, he could have twice many points.

He plays a nice possession game at times too. Once he gets the proper frame to protect pucks he’s going to be very hard to beat off the puck.

I think he projects as a good 2C, he’s somewhat already doing this now at a decent level.

He's gonna have his growing pains, is going to make mistakes, and is going to get benched for it from time to time. That's part of the development process. As @GordonHowe said though, he's ahead of schedule.

Another nothing burger. So he sat the kid. Learning moment. Relax everyone. It’s not uncommon. Poitras isn’t a prince. Plus some load management as well…..sigh……
agreed, the kid will learn from this, I find far too many fans here are so enamored with the kid that they don`t see what I see and clearly Monty see`s, from time to time, the kid makes errors that have led directly to goals. I count 3 goals alone where his giveaway or not being hard enough on the puck has led to a goal, it`ll happen to even the best in the league but this babying of a kid is silly, too many young players given free passes.

He is a great story this year but unless he was lighting it up offensively, those mistakes can`t go ignored. Monty has scratched vets too, Shattenkirk a prime example this year alone so it`s not like he solely is going after "low hanging fruit" as I read here. He`s told Freddy to take a seat a time or two as well, younger but not a rookie

Benching the kid isn’t the problem, never was, benching him every 3rd period in close games regardless of how he playing is the problem.

At somepoint after the 5th time he’s done it it’s not really much of a learning experience anymore and maybe it’s time to let him play his way through it.

And in game load management is not a thing lol, at least it shouldn’t be, you either dress him or you don’t. It just puts more load on the rest of the roster.
