At least two games. That's not "two weeks" Of course if the Leafs can't find a way to win, he's out until training camp next fall.

Bunting was suspended for 3 playoff games.
Bunting did a fly by elbow. There was no elbow here. Bennet smashed him into the boards...as one will do in the playoffs and then he slammed him down hard as they both fell. That's a 2 min powerplay at most.

That's too bad about Knies. He was getting comfortable with the speed of the NHL and employing his skillset accordingly. If we do advance let's play it cautiously with the kid and not rush him back.

Bunting wasn't even looking to see where player behind him was, so he has no clue where he was connecting. He simply knew someone was coming at him and reacted. Fine, anyway he got 3 games.

Knies was first slammed head first into the board(directed by hand) and then had his head slammed into the ice, again directed by hand.

Btw Knies is probably out for this series as per Keefe.

There's something seriously wrong with how you're looking at this.

Bennett smashed his head into the glass with intent and then essentially choke slammed him to the ice, causing his head to bounce off the ice. You cannot tell me that's a hockey play, or 2 guys battling. Lets not forget Tkachuk took a more then healthy run at Matt in that same frame. It's very clearly there has been an objective to take runs at the kid. So why is the league acting like this was some act of pure coincidence. Bennett 100% knew what he was doing in that spot, and he absolutely knew he was hurling Matt's head into the glass and ice. It's a fast game, but that type of play doesn't happen without clear intent. Its hardly like Bennett's arm was ever in a natural hockey position. So clearly targeting the head from the jump

There better be a target on Bennett next game. Schenn, Acciari, Simmonds...I don't care which one of them does it. I really don't care if we have to kill a major to get it done. If the league doesn't want to protect the players, take the matter into your own hands.

You don't wish injury on anyone, but at the end of the day, that is exactly what FLA has been intending to do with Knies all series. It is painfully obvious the amount of runs they've taken at him

I'm convinced you haven't seen that replay. That's not what happened.

The assault against him occurs because the league enjoys a good mugging and the Leafs have to always import players into the dressing room to try and change the culture. The core, even beyond the big four, just don't like to stand up for themselves and others enough.

In the end it is the league that has ensured the sport remains a niche sport. The cross check to Bunting when he was on the ice was just as bad. Same player too, wasn't it?

I've said it countless times, the only sport in the world that doesn't protect it's players.

Rooting for a series ending injury on Bennett. It’s only fair and just.

Not sure this team has it in them though.
Kind of like knocking Cernak out of the series?

If they were trying to injure people, not sure Knies would be at the top of their list

Agree, except I'd be OK with an injury for Bennett.

Ya, exactly like that. Luckily the league dealt with that appropriately. If they didn’t, I’d expect Tampa to come out and target Bunting and have little problem with it.

In this case, the league refused to deal with it. So now I’ll take a Spezza flying knee toward Bennett’s head.

If you don’t think Bunting knew exactly what he was doing, than you are oblivious.

The Tkachuk one was definitely a charging penalty, but nothing beyond that. The Bennett one was dirty for sure

He's 20 years old playing his like 9th game in the NHL. He's the low hanging fruit that they all very clearly have been foaming at the mouth to get a piece of. They know he's not going to take a run back at them. Pretty easy to throw your body at a kid when you know with full certainty that he's not going to return the favor

Why wouldn't he be? He's a rookie and they are clearly trying to intimidate him, but in so doing, caused bodily harm. That flying elbow by Tkachuk was egregious...he should have gotten at least a one game suspension, instead, nothing...and if Bennett did that outside of hockey, it would be assault...grabbing a guy's head and slamming it to the ice is not a hockey play...the NHL is bush league, where dirty plays are overlooked way too often, unless it's a Leaf committing it...corrupt league.

Go put up a poll thread and see how many non partial fans think that what Bennet did is worthy of suspension. The only people who are going to side with you are Leaf fans with blinders on.

Please, this forum is so anti-Leafs it isn’t even funny. Posters on here will vote for the non-Leafs/against Leafs option out of spite. At least r/hockey on Reddit can see the league’s BS and double-standards for what it is.

It's funny how often the main boards whine about everything being Leafs but there are like 5 threads talking about the Leafs on the main board not even started by leaf fans.

And the trolling over there is ridiculous. How bad I want this team to win a cup so the rest of these fanbases can shove it.

It really does feel like the NHL vs Leafs... So frustrating.
