I imagine DSP clocking out at 15-15 type of guy, which for us would be third liner. 20 goals though? Not so sure of that just yet.

25-30 points is a very realistic expectation if you look at DSP's entire career. In 195 games before coming here he played at a ~23 point pace. If you include the games with us, it bumps him up to a ~26 point pace over 200+ games played. I don't think he's suddenly going to jump up to 40 points playing on this team. It would be fantastic if he did, but I'm certainly not expecting it.

I would pump the brakes with the talk of getting 30 goals lol. 15-20 is very possible though. And I wouldn't consider 25 points a success for DSP. That's the kind of production he's already been able to get with limited minutes. I think he'll hit the 30 point mark next year easily.

He doesn't have 30 goals in his ENTIRE career. LoL.

He has 28 career goals in over 200 career games. 25% of those 28 goals came in the last 9 games.

He's averaged 8.8 goals per 82 games over his career before he got here. To get to 20, he needs to better his 195 game career average by about 2.5 times.

Even now, with this crazy hot streak he has 13 goals in 55 games this season. That averaged over a full season is still shy of the 20 goal mark.

By .62 goals. With 4th line toi in MTL and no pp. Even with very little usage this season he is on pace for 19 goals.

Next year? 2nd line minutes, and pp? Math is in my favor.

Just because a player produces at a certain rate getting certain minutes doesn't necessarily mean that production rate will continue with more minutes though.

This is the same board that had Loktionov scoring 50 points. Every time we get a new player that does remotely well, people pencil them in as stars. It's just optimism combined with desperation from how talent deprived we remain.

30-35 points isn't far fetched by any means.

Lol.

Edit: I'm literally chuckling out loud. My wife just asked me what's so funny

damnit. So am I.

No one on this team is a lock for anything.

As for my opinion, I could see 15-25 for dsp
30 is pushing it when palmieri is barely gonna get there this year

Another notch on the belt. Could have easily had a couple more. Should have shot it on that 2-1.

Couple big hits too.

did you show her your post about how you hate the DSP trade? Guy's a monster 3rd liner and Matteau will never play an NHL season after this one....wait...ya...wait...maybe a few games next season since they just got him and gotta run him through camp...

Another solid outing. He's been a terrific add so far and hopefully he continues to lock down a middle six RW spot heading into next season.

And 3 more sog's for DSP. That's been the average over the last 6 games now. And as mentioned, should have shot on the 2-1.

He's been very solid since coming here, and the 7 goals and 4 assists in 10 games definitely helps.

Matteau isn't an NHL player and has never shown any indication that he will be. Highway robbery.

He did not look good, and he never saw the hit coming

Did Matteau score a goal today?

NO!

It's only been 111 days and 20 games since Stefan Matteau scored his last goal!
