Not going to lie. That was a bad hit. I think he's getting suspended. 3 games? 5 games? Siegenthaler was a bit wobbly there. He's raw and he's going to have to cut that out. Right before that he was instrumental in Gustafsson's game winning goal and his going to the net creates a lot of havoc and that's 3 goals in very limited ice time he's played a major part in + another with the assist on Edstrom's goal. Really limited ice time he's done well.

A Rangers fan public serviced announcement....if you have friends who root for other teams you're going to need to get use to them wagging their fingers at you (maybe even lose a few of them along the way.....living a life comes with some attrition) because I think what Ryan Reaves said about Matthew that he's going to be a menace for the next bunch of years is definitely going to come true. I don't want him becoming a dirty player and I don't think he needs to be a physical force that other teams are not going to like. He can hit very hard and not take penalties just being what he is. Keep the elbows down....doesn't need to charge or jump at players.

I think he's been suspended at least once in the AHL. I don't know if the NHL looks at that.

He was never a hockey fan but if he had to pick it a team it was the devs because he works in newark. He now watches hockey because of rempe

If you've ever made a video game character as a kid and played games with him, this is who you made.

Safe to say he needs to tone down the uber aggressive hits for now. Be physical on the puck carrier, in front of the net and in the corners. The running around can happen, but it's been too much.

I do think the Devils got him off his game and were really physical on him. There was clearly talking all game, hence the hand gesture being escorted off. He'll have to get the understanding on time and place.

He just needs to be smarter about how he throws his hits when they guys go to dodge it. Players don't brace for impact so much anymore as they try to just dodge or turn away, which results in worse injury half the time. Keeps your elbows tucked and that's all. If you whiff the hit then so be it.

I can't imagine there won't be a fight the next time with MacDermid. He absolutely showed him up. The reason NJ traded for Kurtis was because of the hit on Bastian and Kurtis was keen to fight him last night. Playing that situation correctly is to make MacDermid take an extra penalty which he didn't do. I'm pretty sure he will next time. That's April 3rd.

On the comp with Wilson. Wilson is a much smoother skater. Rempe still has some work to do there. We don't want him being suspended all the time. The more of them the heavier the suspensions get. If more like when that extra balance comes to him with his speed and putting on say 20/25 lbs. as he gets a little older he's going to be a wrecking ball. Wilson's hitting game probably won't be able to compare. I wouldn't expect though that Rempe is going to ever be a big point getter than Wilson is now but I already see how he can make a 4th line much more dangerous offensively just with the getting to the net and the screens.

On this play Siegenthaler pulls up on his and with his line he was going to miss or mostly miss and get the boards....the elbow coming up automatically. Sometimes you just got to take the miss. Again we don't want him suspended all the time.

If we use him in the playoffs and I'm kind of hoping we do he can be a distraction even for a very physical team like Florida. Speaking of the Panthers I remember the one series we played with them in the. 90's where Beukeboom knocked out 3 Panthers en route to the Rangers winning. Johan Garpenlov moving in to hit him snapped his leg on the hit. Later he nailed Bill Lindsay and that was the last of him. I forget the third.

He elbowed the guy. It was a penalty. Don’t have to beat ourselves up about it though. 1987 laughs at that.
