Another dirty elbow last night. His size doesn't help much in that regard. Needs to work on it.

Dirtiness will lead to more dirtiness. Be careful, but is there a clean monster?

Statistically the time from 2004 up until now, has been historically the least brutal and dirty era of NHL hockey (starting after WWII). I'm curious if Rempe actually will have such a big impact, that we enter a new era of rougher hockey. Not sure I like it.

Hit was dirty and will get him a deserved suspension but I hope they take into account Siegenthaler pulling up to avoid the hit. Much like Bastian the other day, the Devils spent the entire game avoiding hits. Laf on Hughes is another example. Hughes turned to avoid a big hit and went face first into the boards. Refs bailed them out by calling the cleanest hit imaginable.

That was a weak move by Thanasis Hughes you would have thought he knows how to take a hit.

I can see him become a repeat offender.

I like the kid, but after the elbow, he should have fought MacDermid.

We just went up 2-0 - a lot due to Rempe - and then it just deflated the moment. I hope the Devil player is okay, I definitely think he’s concussed.

To not fight after that? Wasn’t a good look for the kid.
Did he really have a chance to fight him? The referees grabbed MacDermid before the situation could escalate, and then Rempe was out of the game.

He could have fought him earlier in the game, but I don't agree that Rempe needed to fight him then, whatever MacDermid might think.

Absolute blasphemy they're calling Rempe a goon

That term is reserved for meatheads like Tom Sestito and Raitis Ivanas

Seriously, this is a bit of a clown take. When the refs stopped play MacDermid was nowhere near him, and the officials immediately grabbed rempe, and MacDermid as well. What is he supposed to do, toss the officials off him to go fight? Would you have been happy with the no doubt rest-of-the-season suspension that would bring?

The reality is the hit was bad, he will be suspended, everything else he did was fine to excellent.

Why are we saying another dirty hit? The first one on Bastian was clean and the league acknowledged as much by recinding his penalty.

That's maybe just me so far, saying both where dirty. Imo the first one was absolutely borderline. I don't care what the league does, what fine or suspension is called.

But again, Rempe is so big, he'd have to go full squat on a hit, to land the shoulder. Needs to find a solution, pick his hits better.

Yeah this whole 'you have to fight me because you're a rookie' is BS. There are SO MANY GAMES when these guys play eachother and nothing happens. That's like saying every game Reaves plays in he has to fight.

Multiple outlets reported that the League stated the Bastian hit should not have been a game misconduct.
I haven't seen those, maybe they have said such a thing. But they have not rescinded the penalty, it's still on the books.

I think it was an illegal hit, and even if you don't it was borderline enough that it caused an ejection. And that's an issue. Who gives a rats ass about how Rempe is perceived outside of the team, for this team he is becoming too unpredictable and risky. I'm willing to give him more chances, but he needs to really calm down.

It was not borderline, literally at all. That's why the league came out and said so.

Last night's hit was suspension worthy, and he will get probably 2 games.

Now, show me the teams that win Cups *without* players that ride the line.

What if Rempe doesn't fight next time he plays the Devils and MacDermid injuries Panarin or one of the skilled guys? Chances this happened?
Which one of the devils - Haula maybe - did a sweep leg takedown from behind on Panarin at the devils blue line and got called for it? MacDermid isn't going to be in a position to make a hit or do anything between the whistles but that doesn't mean that the devils aren't going to be dirty f***ers. They were last night and they will be again next game. Just because they're cowardly turds doesn't meant that they weren't trying dirty dangerous plays.

You have to protect yourself which is why jack threw the puck 20 feet away and got the f*** off the ice when Rempe had him lined up. The Rangers players need to do the same if MacDermid is charging at them or if Haula or some other other worthless f***er is going for the patented new jersey slewfoot.

Google right now is only returning results from last night, it's linked in the Rempe threads on the main board.
C'mon now, I'm sure you can find the reports for me if you say they exist. I can point you to NHL scorecards and statistics and show that the penalty is still there.

I love people bringing up the Wilson incident and the statement to the league screaming “see this here” and laughing hysterically

Pepperidge Farm remembers? Pretty sure the Rangers and their fans remember nobody giving a shit like they haven’t for basically our entire existence

Open season on our players from now on?
What’s changed? Hasn’t that always been the case? That’s why we’ve been mocked for being a soft team of smurfs and ballerinas on ice seemingly our entire existence and everyone laughed how they couldn’t handle business themselves and resorted to something like a statement to the league to protect them

When they signed Reaves it was all chuckles about how Wilson broke the Rangers but go read the main board or the Devils board now and see who’s broken

Now these same people who were laughing it up after the Wilson thing all want the league to save them from the big bad Rangers?

I say f*** em’

Don’t expect sympathy from us now
