It's absolutely awesome when he is going in for a check or on the forecheck, the crowd starts to get louder....defensemen are really going to panic when retrieving the puck when he is on the ice when they hear the crowd start getting louder. He needs to be in the lineup in the playoffs.
Your description of the crowd anticipating hits is how MSG used to be when Nicky hit the ice in his early years. He was a bull in a china shop.

Rempe is not Tom Wilson. However, he could be a 10-12 goal guy. Good solid forechecker. $820,000 cap hit. Very interesting player.
I think he's got more goals in him if they use him in certain situations.

He could be a net front guy on a PP unit. I could see him being a 15-20 goal guy in his prime. Remember when Brian Boyle improved his skating and suddenly became a 20 goal 30 point player for the Rangers after only scoring 4 goals in 70 games the year prior.

Rempe is a very good skater and has enough skill to be a player. I'm really impressed by this guy. I wouldn't even hesitate to offer him a long term deal this summer.

Watching Edstrom via a TV broadcast....I just don't see what many here do . I can't see where he is that much better if any than Rempe . Just the presence of Rempe out on the ice has the opposition thinking about him . He is in their heads before they drop the puck !!!

At this point...who do we have that does more as a 4th line RW on this club ? I think the team LOVES having him out there as this guy is a deterrent say what you want . He might not deter them all.....but most will think twice now . He brings balls to the team and you see some of our guys growing some as well .

Finish the season with him playing and I'm sure they will go from there on whether he plays or not post season . Monday game will be a HUGE test for him against the Devil team . I'm not sure how that one should be played . I think him waiting all game to fight Reaves ended up being a distraction for the team in that game . Maybe just as well to get it on and over with early with their new goon .

Have the balls? Hes consistently been one of our more impactful players when on the ice. Hes causing turnovers left and right and his line is controlling the zone
Preaching to the choir. I'm just saying you know how some coaches are with playing rookies in tight games. I just don't wanna play him if he's gonna get 4 min a game.

Rempe giving us what reaves never did
Definitely. It's good to have young legs that are hungry. Also why I am happy with Roslovic over Pacioretty.

No reason to fight MacDermid. He’s hanging in the league by a thread. Rempe, as he showed last night, brings so much more to the game.
True but you know he's gonna be challenged. Especially once he even attempts to throw a hit.

I’d love to see Rempe tell McDermid “Sure, I’ll fight you, drop your gloves and take the instigator.”

Seems like a good way to draw a power play and put those fools away early

I think the general consensus is that Edstrom's puck skills are a bit better/he plays with a bit more finesse which could mean higher ceiling offensively and ability to play farther up in the lineup if needed - but Rempe has seen such exponential growth and is younger so that gap might be closing. And he has a whole other dimension of his play obviously which could definitely make him more valuable, especially in the playoffs.

He genuinely played a very good game yesterday, and if he can do that going forward, he'll be a staple in the lineup. Keep it simple, stay strong on pucks, chip it in, and get the forecheck going. There's a lot of awkwardness in his skating still, but I think he can fix it with a good offseason of agility and explosive training

When Rempe goes to the net and he's setting up a screen it's a problem for the other team. Binnington last night was like 'WTF! where's the puck!'....sometimes he had no idea and since Matthew also is attracting one sometimes two guys trying to push him out there's even more chaos in front of the net and one thing goalies don't want in front of their net is chaos going on. He also had a couple whacks at loose pucks from those situations and now and again he's going to get lucky and put one in. Maybe it's weird but it makes me happy watching chaos theory happen in real time.

Someone posted a photo of the MSG scoreboard that had clocked the Rangers fastest skaters throughout the game and Rempe was up there. It doesn't look like it because he's so tall and lanky. I'm just continually impressed by this guy.

Skating, fights, and hits aside, the thing I really like about him is he really seems to appreciate the moment. He earned this moment but he is not taking it for granted. He seems really thankful, polite and is enjoying his time here. I think his teammates see that as well. That helps the team overall imo. We think of hockey as a game but the NHL is a business. It is refreshing to see a guy like Matt.

the game had this weird stage performance vibe to it with those ooh and aahs and all the polite clapping after a decent shift. I was bemused but amused.

Stupid f***ing ZibImBad!

Put Rempe on the PP, if not 1 then 2. Have him just park his ass in front of the crease and shove defenders away.
They used to do this with Chara but at some point they stopped. Probably when they got Pasta and just didn't need to do that sort of shit.
