Rempe really isnt a bad hockey player. Hes just a solid 4th liner. I watch alot of pack games and he was a real net front presence and hit everything that moved. I think hes gonna be a fan favorite staple on our 4th line for a whilehe did okay against Reaves, he was clearly more defensive which he really needed to be. it was a good tilt. Reaves is strong as a f***ing ox.
he led the team in xGF rel again lmao
Making contact with the head isn’t the issue. TARGETING the head is. Just read the actual rules. Rempe, throwing hits, does not target the head. There will be no disciplinary action, nor should there be.Didn't leave his skates, that's true. I can't fault the kid for being tall. That pic there does no justice though as the primary contact point is the head and the player was injured. If the DoPS had any consistency, it'd be 1-2 games as a first time offender. Since they are anything BUT consistent, it'll be a slap on the wrist and maybe a fine. If anything at all tbh.
There was no head contact. This is simply untrue.Didn't leave his skates, that's true. I can't fault the kid for being tall. He has to play 25 games 11 years ago.he only has to play 25 games. after that he can remove his visor.
Targeting would be interpretation from whoever views the footage. So it might or might not, honestly. You are right on the NHL version of the rules though, I wrongly assumed the NHL had adopted international rules for head contact.Making contact with the head isn’t the issue. TARGETING the head is. its close to a penalty?
its close to a penalty?
Yea charging is defined as 3+ strides, he took exactly 3. It just looks worse because he’s so big and fast that his 3 strides cover so much distance lol. Then same with his size making hits higher and harder. 2 min penalty at most, fine hit. He’s just the next evolution of man, a player like the game has never seen beforehe takes maybe one stride two many I think
Why does everyone keep saying this? Charging does not have a number of strides assigned to it. It is a nonsensical statement in relation to the rule. Charging is not defined clearly at all, and is quite discretionary.he takes maybe one stride two many I think
Is that the NHL rulebook? Perhaps the NHL leaves it more up for discretion than other governing bodies, USA Hockey & Hockey Canada both have a number of stridesWhy does everyone keep saying this? I posted the nhl rule with my post did it not show up? It is there for me.Is that the NHL rulebook? Perhaps the NHL leaves it more up for discretion than other governing bodies, USA Hockey & Hockey Canada both have a number of strides

Yes but I was just asking if that was the NHL rulebook as it didn’t specify which rulebook it was lol. Both USA hockey & hockey Canada have a set number of strides that defines charging, so I guess the NHL does leave it up for discretion but the training those refs had and if they reffed lower levels they have been accustomed to judge by a certain amount of strides but the NHL leaves it more open for discretion. Even if not explicitly stated in the NHL rulebook the number of strides does matter if a guy took 1 stride no one would call it charging, if a guy took 7 it obviously isI posted the nhl rule with my post did it not show up? Yeah but he didn’t take any strides INTO the player. He glided the last 6 feet. You can take a thousand steps before you hit the guy as long as you glide into the guy. I guess you can say he borderline had too short a glide? I think it just looks a little that way because he’s so big.Yea charging is defined as 3+ strides, he took exactly 3. Yea and Rempe was also F1 on that forecheck, that was his guy. It’s not like when there are two guys battling for a puck and some guy charges in and hits oneYeah but he didn’t take any strides INTO the player. He glided the last 6 feet. “Beginning with the 2013-2014 season, all players who have fewer than 25 games of experience must wear a visor”He has to play 25 games 11 years ago.
I hope so. It's limited viewing at the NHL level. His puck handling ability has been pretty sloppy and he'll need to be more aware of who is on the ice with him. Forechecking Nylander on Saturday was a predictable outcome. Personally, I'd be shocked if he plays in more than 40% of the games over the next 2 years, but I hope I'm wrong because a player that size, hitting everything, can really benefit the team.Rempe really isnt a bad hockey player.
