prob deserves a suspension for that charge. zero reason to leave his feet and he injured someone because of it.

he’s gotta play smarter. his career will be very short if he keeps this up.

Rangers are going to NY Ranger this deadline and likely Rempe will get sent back at some point. Personally, I can’t remember the last time I was excited for a Rangers 4th line like I am with this trio. They have created an identity. They are creating offense. And in the case of Rempe, the whole league is talking about this kid.

I’m hoping they let this trio stay and continue to grow together.
If he goes to finish the season in Hartford after the TDL I hope Drury directs Smith to have him Center the 3rd line.
If they’re going to have play on the 4th line for the Wolf Pack might as well keep him here as a 13th forward.

This is a good point He should be getting big minutes in Hartford to finish out the year. Otherwise it’s pointless for him to go back. Better off practicing with the big club

With the way Rempe is fighting, what would be the reaction if he tried to fight a non fighter. What if Malkin or Ovechkin did their dirty sneaky stuff. And Rempe was on the ice? I’d love to see that happen.

Interesting stat Matt Rempe played 7 NHL games, 5th on the team in penalty minutes 😂

He’s probably getting at least a fine for that charge, and maybe a game.

Either way, he will probably be sent to Hartford after the game on Monday.

The Rangers should put together a workplace training video of Ryan Hollweg hits on what not to do.

The kid is playing legitimately great, but if he gets a rep by the refs, it will greatly change his effectiveness.

the kid is brave and a survivor. he's also lucky reaves didn't knock him out.

going forward will teams start calling up a goon from the minors whenever there's an upcoming game against the rangers if the kid is still with the club? are fights going to start become a regular event or just a passing phase?

Kid really has guts. Taking fights night after night is rare and probably not smart. I rewatched the fight a few times. Matt's left arm defense was much better although he took some late shots. Big key was his helmet strap stayed in place till after the fight. I would get with the equipment manager and get some pliers so that button takes a ton of effort to come un done.

No reason he cant stay up as a black ace for the playoffs.

Rempe is not getting anything from that hit lol. At most a minor could have been called but even that was borderline. Skate is still on the ice at contact.

But please stop f***ing fighting now for no reason, it's becoming dumb, you are losing all the time now, and your career will be cut very short.

I’m down for a Tom Wilson- Matt Rempe brawl. Take heart over a mercenary like Reaves any day.
sure - if the right time time comes. if wilson cheapshots bread again or one of our other stars then yeah get rempe to do battle.

but i'd rather prefer this instead: how about develop rempe into our tom wilson. we've already seen that he skates like wilson. now it's just a matter if he can come close to as possible reach the offensive skill sets that somewhat resembles those of wilson's.

Dont think he has the hands to become a Wilson. Pain in the ass 30 point ceiling is still great for a player of his ilk

Didn't leave his skates, that's true. I can't fault the kid for being tall. That pic there does no justice though as the primary contact point is the head and the player was injured. If the DoPS had any consistency, it'd be 1-2 games as a first time offender. Since they are anything BUT consistent, it'll be a slap on the wrist and maybe a fine. If anything at all tbh.

Of the many things this kid needs to learn is that honor is for people who like being on LTIR.

The next time somebody like Reaves follows him around, instead of shaking hands and facing the guy up, he should just do what Reaves did to Wilson.

"The code" is just what these old pricks use to justify beating up kids. The only real code is survival.

Be dirty.

he did okay against Reaves, he was clearly more defensive which he really needed to be. it was a good tilt. Reaves is strong as a f***ing ox.

he led the team in xGF rel again lmao

learned to use his reach and not let the other guy get easy punches in during the Deleasuserui fight, Reaves still got the best of him because Rempe was too eager to throw the punch and Reaves punched him every time he opened up and threw a punch. He's learning. By the end of the season he should be 10X the better fighter than he was against Martin.

This kid is gonna have alot of clean hits where first contact is the head. Hes 12 feet tall. Sweet sweet opposing fan tears incoming.

If he plays like that he's going to take a ton of penalties because regardless of whether or not it should be clean if he hits someone in head the refs are often going to call a penalty.
