this isnt true, the league has constantly ruled that head as PPoC is okay if the hit is through the core of the body. this hit was through the core of the body. But the principal point of contact was the head....which is illegal in the NHL whether it is hit with the shoulder or the elbow. It wasn't a legal hit in the NHL based off of it's rulebook. I don't think it was like an egregiously dirty hit or anything but I wouldn't be shocked if he gets a call either.
It seems like he's being deployed as a goon, not a hockey player. What type of role do you think he was playing in the ahl? What type of role do you think he was called up for? Shouldn't be to hard to figure out.
Did you watch the second angle of the hit? There was no contact with the body whatsoever.this isnt true, the league has constantly ruled that head as PPoC is okay if the hit is through the core of the body. this hit was through the core of the body.
Player put himself in a position that contact with the head was unavoidable. League rules state that is not targeting the head.Did you watch the second angle of the hit? There was no contact with the body whatsoever.
You can make contact with peoples head. Learn the rules. If you’re a tall guy and you play in a league that is trying to eliminate headshots, it’s your job to figure out how to throw checks without hitting the head. Rempe did not. You can try to hide behind the rules but that’s being naive.
Bastian was in a vulnerable position. Rempe could have held up. He'll learn from it. He's a physical player, but I wouldn't call him dirty. Just an unfortunate outcome where a kid is trying to make a name for himself to stay in the lineup.was there any way he could have hit him while standing up?
If no how can that be a penalty
I know what the rules say. At the end of the day, it’s not what the rules say, it’s what the league and its lawyers are trying to accomplish. You can make contact with peoples head. Learn the rules.

I guess I see the hit differently. Looks to me like he pretty clearly nails him right in the head.this isnt true, the league has constantly ruled that head as PPoC is okay if the hit is through the core of the body. this hit was through the core of the body.
How was it unavoidable? Bastian was already head down battling with the puck before Rempe even got on the ice. It was a full on charge into a headshot. I know Rangers fans are known for being fairweather but you could at least read the rulebook before spouting non-sense.Player put himself in a position that contact with the head was unavoidable. This. It is funny how many people who invoke the rule book don’t actually understand the rule. There are legal hits which include head contact. The rule doesn’t say a player can’t be hit in the head. Head contact was unavoidable. Bastian had his beak out, head was down a millisecond before and Rempe is 6’8
The rule book literally states its not the players responsibility to ensure they're in good position before laying a hit. Should players not finish their checks? Perhaps you're the one spouting nonsense there skippyHow was it unavoidable? Bastian was already head down battling with the puck before Rempe even got on the ice.
