Whether you like the hit or not taking a cheap shot at a 21 year old saying he's not an NHL or NHL worthy player when he's up in the NHL and playing in only his 3rd game is a bit uncalled for. Don't think most people would appreciate a young call up on their team being targeted that way and it's not like with very few exceptions that opposition teams fans have been watching Rangers prospects very closely. If you're not a Rangers fan what do you really know about how he's been developing within their system. About as much as I know about some of yours. Basically you don't know.

Lmao, a shitty goon in the AHL gets called out for being a shitty goon in the NHL and you get into your feelings that he did something stupid in a NHL game.

I love people who use Stevens as an example whenever a hit like this happens and especially against a Devil as if he played in the same era. No shit, his hits by today's standards would be lengthy suspensions but then so would guys like Hatcher, etc.

Bahl probably tried but he's too soft, too unskilled and too low hockey IQ to be able to skate and land hits. If he managed a big clean hit then good for him. That's hockey.

devils fans should be furious at their shitty GM for having such a soft, whiny team AGAIN. For f***'s sake they got bullied by the prancing carolina softies in the POs last year and did nothing to address it.

Rempe got not only Bastian but all the little devils heads and it was over for them in the first 10 mins.

The Trouba hit was clean (shocker), the Rempe hit was not. It's directly to the guy's head. If the league hopes to take a consistent stance on headhits (I'm not saying they do, but they should) this is an easy 1 game suspension. Nothing to do with his size. And get out of here with this "he tucked his elbow" bullshit, or this "He couldn't avoid the hit!" - he literally winds up into the hit for 3 seconds lol. He didn't have to make the hit, and when he did make it, it's directly to the head.
 
If they wore the old padded elbow pads I don’t think that hit does as much damage as it does

The Rangers blew it last year and good for the devils for making them pay and good for Bahl landing the hit on Lindgren. That's f***ing hockey. You know what else is hockey, really bad hockey - the devils being soft as shit AGAIN and getting run over and over in their own building. That's all on the devils players, coaching and management.

Rempe got the head but didn't charge and didn't leave his feet but it's a penalty and Dano was right in the call - he's going to have to figure out how to hit at his size. There was no response AT ALL from the devils and that's a huge problem for them even if too many devils' fans keep pretending it isn't.

Don’t talk about last years playoffs.

Rangers showed up for this regular season game but were nowhere to be found when it really mattered in game 7.

Or the response could've been drilling 3 goals on the 5 min major PP they got but yeah sure toffness lost the game. Get the f*** outta here.

Just f***ing delusional like most debbies. You got run and run hard in your own building and think you can ballerina your way to a win? The goals aren't going to come because the Rangers are a better team and they aren't going to come because the devils were small and scared and played like it.

This is one of those disgusting predatory hits that I hate since he could have easily avoided damage but instead chose to inflict maximum brain trauma and drilled him right in the face while making absolutely 0 attempts to prevent damage to a vulnerable opponent. 2-4 games imo as hit was straight to the head.

I’m on the fence on this one. Rempe May have committed to the hit prior to Bastian changing his head position. If that’s the case it might not be a suspension. Reminds me a bit of a hit Malone put on Campoli when the rule was first put in place but the change in head position is a bit more obvious. Malone wasn’t suspended.

Based on the live shot it looked like he picked the head. Based on the reverse angle it looked more like he hit pretty close to center of mass.

Would like to see more angles to make sure since that is what would make it either a legal or illegal check under current NHL rules.

IIHF rules it’s an easy call as a check to the head since there’s no exception. But NHL rules only require the hitter to throw what amounts to a full body check that doesn’t pick the head independent of the body.
