That's what goalies in this league have been like for the past 15 years or so.
I mean, how many guys in the NHL have had a really solid 5-year stretch since 2005? The days of having a stud in nets for the better part of a decade and no worries about consistency or big saves is long gone. Whtever is going on in the goalie world, it's not creating guys who are consistently elite from year to year anymore.
the other part of this is there are so many good goalies out there for crazy cheap - and next year in expansion there will be even more available.
Nilsson being a good example of a guy who could be good but not great and make your team respectable.
