He is a better player than he was when he left, and any lack of speed that you see is probably injury related. He hits less, but no longer chases hits away from the play. The same fourth line that used to hit everything in sight will now hit you, take the puck, and try to score on you.The reasons I don't think Lou will re-sign him are...
A) He's getting slower and producing less impactful hits.
B) He's not much of a fighter anymore.
McCarty was a different beast.
I'm not ****ting on the guy, he is an Islander legend and is currently useful, but his time is running out...
Lou knows what MM brings to the team, do not bet against a new contract for #17.
