They were an overrated sideshow to begin with. A lot of worthless hits to make fans think they were "lunchpail guys" but not actually winning players. Maybe Clutterbuck at his best was a decent 4th liner and that's it.

The way I felt about the Jets last year. No expectations and guys playing their hearts out for jobs, I actually loved watching them.

Leafs now have a TON of goalies signed.

Pickard
Kaskisuo

and now McAdam.
Got to think they make another move to get rid of one of them yes?
Wonder the value of McElhinney or Pickard.

Maybe Lou should sign some of us because we're also terrible hockey players who have even more loyalty to the organization.
 
I have an idea. Lets be rational for a second. The Isles are going nowhere with their forwards, D, & Gs. Even if you got Erik Karlsson it would be a marginal upgrade for a team that wouldn't be able to get out of the first round if he willed them there. Even worse, you'd be f***ing up the salary cap for years ahead by signing him. Just wait a year. Tank in 18-19 and take the lottery pick in 2019. You probably then have Toews, Dobson, and perhaps Aho ready to enter full-time. We see what is happening with Soderstrom and Sorokin. Don't go for the quick fix and ultimate failure.

Tavares hamstrung this team in every way this season, through the draft, and the UFA period. Don't compound this by making a second huge mistake (the first one being JT wasn't asked to sign by trade deadline).

not to mention, we haven't brought up Karlsson's ankle, or what's left of it.

Don't get me wrong, I want to tank. If we don't get Hughes (we won't because we have Barzal and Trotz) then we need to tank the year after this as well.

UNLESS we get offered a future MVP for an overrated, oft-injured defenseman but like that would ever happen...

I'm all for it. No use in fighting an uphill battle. We just have to try our best to out-tank the Senators, Rangers, Oilers, Habs, and Sabres.

We have to build for the future...

Yeah, that's the point. My other point is I understand Martin is not really good at this point but at least he was a real team leader and wanted to be here. #f***Judas

Teams are gonna love playing us because they'll always have the puck. We need to tank but let's have some self-respect and not pretend to be proud of a team of skillless meatheads. I'd rather Barzal skate JT out of his pants every shift (while losing ofc) than take pointless cheap shots at him.

You maybe right but what's the point of acquiring Martin?
He does nothing for the team and is overpaid just like Komarov.
Plus why wasn't salary given to us or one of those young goalies Toronto seems to have an abundance of.
I don't think Snows calling the shots. I'm started to believe Lou's a double agent.

It's not like MM CC and CC are goons by any stretch. They hit hard and clean 99% of the time.
