He's doing all the little things unlike Hayes who's been a complete zero

I'm not the biggest fan of Hayes but I think hes been fine overall and not a liability.

Those great games he has are just abnormalities you can't rely on him.

I'd like to concentrate on building a top shutdown defensive 3rd line and having Hayes-Spooner and someone else as the 4th line.

Beleskey is awesome I knew he'd step it up and get hot perfect signing its hard to get guys like this without drafting them and before they get too old and you don't pay for what he was before you had him (Kelly was excellent his first year.)

Amazing to see all the Beleskey appreciation and he hasn't even been scoring goals. I was expecting him to have a lot more of those but I'm sure they will come in time.

All you do is ***** about how Seguin is gone or just say how bad this team is. It got old months ago. I don't think anyone really wants to go 2 years back and read your posts to verify that you were once tolerable.

Serious note:

Beleskey, while not scoring goals, is putting up points, and gives 100% effort. Is physical, and has come as advertised. Won't complain.

Exactly. Beleskey plays a more Bruin style of hockey. 100% effort, and hits everything that moves. We are obviously going to be into that more than what Kelly brings/brought, though I'm missing Kelly a lot, and i can't believe i just said that.

Even when he's not scoring goals, he manages to be a factor.

I like the fact that with Vatrano and Pasta in the top 6, it drops Beleskey, Hayes and Connolly to the bottom 6. That's some great depth. And they can all fill in on higher lines when needed.

We just need the right centre for the third line. I don't think Spooner is suited for it.

It's more about being effective. Beleskey is still on pace for about 40 or so points. He can play in the top-9, give you all of those intangibles, and still not hurt you. Nothing against Kelly, but the age and injuries were piling up in recent years.

Beleskey has been the Bruins most consistent 5 on 5 player this year IMO.

Sounds to me that you're someone who would probably just ride the coat tails of those good posters. Right now he's on pace for 320 hits this season. I know hits are kinda subjective but still.

For comparison that would put him 3rd in the NHL behind only those two wrecking balls on NYI Martin and Clutterbuck based on last seasons totals.

And he can also play the game. Much more to Belesky than just hits.

Might only be 20 games in but this signing is a winner by Sweeney.
