I am just waiting for Dekes to explain how it is already working and these loses and the record is a mirage.
Oh, these losses and record are very real, but you're sorely misguided if you think the issue is the configuration of our core 4.
As he has repeatedly told you, he already explained it hundreds of times, although for some unknown reason he will never provide a link or repeat his explanation.
I constantly provide links and repeat explanations. I unfortunately can't help you if you choose not to read, or still fail to understand.
In fact, here's a link to me repeating an explanation (for like the 20th time) just the other day: Player Discussion - Marner
Did I get a response to that? Of course not. Because it's easier for some to just harass and misrepresent posters that prove them wrong.
Dekes got mocked after the Tampa game for saying this team wasn't any better than previous years
Yep. There were lots of people who really wanted things to be better than previous years, so they proclaimed that it was so different and awesome, and mocked those of us who recognized otherwise. Then the reality check came with the Columbus loss the next day, and we've gone 2-3-2 since; looking worse in some of those losses than we have in a long, long time. Will these posters learn from it? No. Just continue blaming Marner and the people who actually understand hockey.

How can it be any better when we still have Shanny running things and the same ineffective core 5 players and their pay structure.
I know Dekes doesn’t think there is anything wrong with that but even his boys Dubas/Keefe couldn’t get those guys to have any success .

The funny thing is Dekes was probably totally on board with trading one of the core 4 until Marner was the odd man out.

Nonononoononoon the core 4 is untouchable.

Regardless of Marner's skillset or whatever. Just ignoring all of it for a second. This team has been a huge failure the last 8 years. Marner is the most likely to go because of his contract situation if we want to make a change, which I feel like is self evident after watching this team break down even with good goaltending.

Different problems when Dubas and Keefe were here obviously :sarcasm:

I get that it's just troilling this guy you all mock but, yes, obviously? we've had some of the best goaltending in the league this year for example
And dubas never got great goaltending lol? And if he didnt, whos fault would that have been?

Teams ride and die by their core. You are not winning a cup off of some random depth player a gm happened to bring in. Florida does not win if Tkachuk/Barkov/Bob etc all suck. Tampa doesnt win if Kucherov/Hedman/Point are trash. Vegas doesnt win if Eichel doesnt turn it up to another level in the playoffs.

5 players have remained here for all this failure but yeah, lets blame everyone else around them instead.

If only we had lafferty last year... Cup woulda been ours

Idk maybe. Campbell had really good stats for half a year but he was also terrible at playing goalie. and it was the GM's fault, obviously, for not acquiring better goaltending. as it was his fault for not adding any tough skilled depth like Domi, or tough shot blocking dmen like Benoit. as I say, pick a random Leafs win PGT from the past year and most everyone will be agreeing that those guys have made a difference.

This is your idea of an explanation?
That's not a meaningful difference, and it was more about the point than a perfect comparison of players.
It's way beyond funny.

Not true - apparently we had massive success with the most perfectly built team, but for unexplained reasons we came just short of winning the Cup every year.

That's more-so you ignoring all of the countless explanations I've made (including ones provided to you), and the rest of that discussion, to pick out one sentence responding to somebody who started randomly talking about heights and weights for no reason. I don't know what you're expecting to be explained there, but you'd probably learn a lot if you read the entirety of discussions instead of just attacking and misrepresenting posters.

He's had a real strong start to the season. Hard not to love the effort every night, hopefully some others start following.
He’s been really good this year. Hopefully it continues, but my fear the team may not respond and the wheels fall off. This week is important to the psyche of this team.

I didn't "pick out one sentence" (odd that you complain, inaccurately, about the thing that you are most guilty of), but quoted the entire post that you linked to.

Sorry that you can't even understand your own posts. Now you know how the rest of us feel.

Things will look a whole lot better if they can win the next 3.
Another set of back to backs though, seems like they've had more of those early season this year than the past.

If they lose 1 of the next 4, I hope it’s against Detroit.
