To me , he is a slightly better Domi, but with the ability to PK. His defensive game in other situations are very overrated. I wouldn’t care if he was a 7 mil player. Couldn’t care less about his assists. Most of them would happen to any other good player playing 1st line with these linemates. His once every 4-5 games TV worthy assists negated by idiotic passes and turnovers.

He’s a real good player let’s not do that he needs to shoot more he used to shoot more I think he’s just gotten caught up in trying to get Matthews to score that he just always looks for the pass he wasn’t always like that

The reason nobody would say that is because very clearly, none of them are, and it's a ridiculous thing to say. You attempted to justify your poor position on Marner by pointing to the playoff production dip that you ignore the actual reasons for, but even the best, toughest cup-winners have had the same thing happen to them, and you even helped show how situation and team-based playoff production is, so now you've admitted that the playoff production dip doesn't mean that. Which means you have nothing.

We did have around 20m cap space. Obviously, that doesn't mean 20m with a full roster signed, just as it doesn't in your scenario.
There's really no combination of available options that necessitates losing Marner, that is worth losing Marner.

Mitchy is not worth 13+. At that point the 13+ for 5 or 8 yrs is of more value than he is.
Going forward with the increase in the cap his % of the cap must drop if we are to win.

Hopefully he plays more like he did last night, dump and chase, retrieving pucks. He’s actually quite good at it and it’s less times that he tries to make some boneheaded play.

Marner is one of the best players in the world. An elite, two-way, all-situations player, and we're lucky to have him.

You can keep trying to twist the data as much as you want.

We are very lucky to be able to get eliminated on April 27th as opposed to April 4th thanks to Marner's awesome play.
