John Dean ?Well you're in luck because dubas will somehow find someone even softer as a replacement
LMAO
Drama in Trana eh? Coach "i didn't mean it you guys. you the best players ever". Grow a spine Keefe.
hey mitch... grown men don't talk about being "grown men"
![]()
Made him cry even. Guess it was before he was a "grown man"He lost the room because of what he did to a 19 year old kid. Made him name the 5 worst players on the team and because he had no choice he named himself and 4 other players. Babcock then told the room what the kid told him. Right there he list the room.
Keefe "I used the wrong words" lol
Clearly the stars run the show here. Time to fire this entire blue diseased management group.
This market can be so exhausting. Keefe said nothing wrong. Like, he LITERALLY said nothing wrong. It was completely innocuous and an innocent reflection on the game. I actually can't even fathom the players caring, or even catching wind of it until someone brought it up with them. Why he felt the need to clarify anything is super weird and self-conscious, like he did something foolish like listening to talk radio on the way home. Anyways, he should have left it alone and rolled his eyes to anyone who asked about it.
We are grown men or we are a team.
Take your pick.
He is a goofy fruitcake I give you that.Let's kill the babcock stuff. Keefe sucking doesn't magically make Babcock good. Babcock turned into an even bigger weirdo near the end. Nobody in the league wanted to touch that guy regardless of the pedigree
It is true Babcock turned "weird" at the end but he was still an integral piece in converting us from a joke team to a respected team.Let's kill the babcock stuff. Keefe sucking doesn't magically make Babcock good. Babcock turned into an even bigger weirdo near the end. Nobody in the league wanted to touch that guy regardless of the pedigree
I also don't think Babcock is too hellbent on finding work when he can sit at home with his wife enjoying life and collecting $6.25M to do nothing.
Excellent post. I know a lot of people thought it was amazing.....I thought I was watching Friday Nights LightsWhen I saw that behind the scene's clip of Keefe asking the team in OT, who wants to be the hero and talked about fluffy glory stuff and zero talk about X's and O's , I was like WTF is he doing? Are you directing a Hollywood movie or are you trying to win a playoff round? Tell your team what to do... tell them who to watch, review set plays, gauge their mindset so you can give ice time to the guys who have ice in their veins and keep the panicked guys on the bench... crazy thought but you might want to try to get them ready for OT and keep the "Win one for the Gipper" ra ra ra speeches for Hollywood.
The guy knows he's a goner if the team is off to a slow start so he's "coaching" to keep his job, IE: Keep the stars happy, keep the GM happy... just fire the guy and lets move on to Barry Trotz.
Wow... Keefe. Apologizing for your soft criticism? These team is a tire fire.
The difference between the NHL and Dubas teams:
Stars CEO rips Benn, Seguin: 'They are f---ing horsesh--'
Warning: Story contains coarse language
Dallas Stars CEO Jim Lites is far from impressed with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn this season, and went on the record Friday with a profanity-laced rant to describe their recent performances.
“They are f***ing horseshit, I don’t know how else to put it,” Lites said, according to The Athletic's Sean Shapiro. “The team was OK. But Seguin and Benn were terrible.”
Surprisingly, the comments came after the Stars beat the Nashville Predators 2-0 on Thursday, a game in which Benn and Seguin were held pointless for the second straight night.
“We are a stars-driven league, and our stars aren’t getting it done,” Lites added, urging Shapiro to publish his comments. “It’s embarrassing, and no one writes it. Write it!”
Frustration within the organization first boiled over Thursday morning when head coach Jim Montgomery described the team's first skate back after the Christmas break as "f***ing embarrassing."
“These guys are not good enough. They’re not good enough for me, they’re not good enough for the owner, and they’re certainly not good enough for the general manager," Lites continued.
"These guys were signed to big contracts because they were the third- and sixth-leading scorers in the National Hockey League over the past five years. They get their money, we expect them to not be outplayed every game we play in."
Leafs:
"The difference between us and Arizona is that we have elite players, Keefe said on Monday. “And our elite players didn’t play like elite players.”
Before Wednesday’s practice at Ford Performance Centre, Keefe sought out individual players to clarify what he meant.
“I used some of the wrong words to try describe what I was trying to describe that the difference in the game was that difference in the game was that we weren’t able to produce,” Keefe explained. “By no means was I meaning anything beyond that. They didn’t know what I was talking about, which is a good thing. At the same time important that they know where I was coming from.”
Well that and Dubas waived his back up goalie and replaced it with trash
YES, FIRE MANAGEMENT! TRADE EVERYONE! BACK TO THE BASEMENT AGAIN! MAYBE THIS TIME WE'LL GET A 1ST OVERALL! ONLY TOOK 30 YEARS LAST TIME...We have a couple of spoiled brats running the team. And our management and coaching staff can't do anything about it. They are letting these players determine on what is said to them.
Keefe and Dubas know they are on very tight leash and hurting these guys feelings, lets me to believe, that they can turn off whatever the coach is telling them. It's criticize or lose your job. That's why Keefe backpedaled.
This is why Keefe hasn't changed Mitch to playing with JT and Nylander with Auston, when it's obvious he should be trying at least. Best buds have to play together, right?
Everyone from the top has to go, Shanahan, Dubas and Keefe. We need a G.M. who has the balls to trade entitled brats for the good of the team, and not save face because he gave out those contracts (especially Mitch's).
I'm not saying to trade those two but have the balls to separate them for a game or two or three.
What happened to accountability? There is none with this management team because they gave the power to the players. It's absolutely disgusting.
I love this team since 78', yes I know I'm still waiting to see a championship lol but back then there was accountability. A player sucked for a period, the player would either get benched or changed to a different line.
I know it's only 4 games but it's another new season and the same frustrations on how they are playing are there again.
I just want to say that Matthews has always come off to me as a douchey "I'm too good for everything" type of guy. I am taking these events as confirmation of this lol
Yes our top lines two goals in 4 games is incredible
Matthews is the ONLY guy who put in the "effort" in Game 6 and Game 7 against both the Habs and Bolts. He was skating, hitting and what not. He was dragged down by his linemates.
It isn't any different this time around where Matthews is still playing fairly well its his linemates dragging him down and not doing a good job. Marner consistently loses puck/board battles. Bunting doesn't agitate or goes after pucks.
Plan for oppositin is clear:
Give the pass to Matthews and take away his shot; once Matthews passes to either marner or bunting pressure them because they absolutely SUCK ASS at holding on to pucks or winning board battles; get the puck and clear the zone
