"I'm not going to watch or enjoy the Leafs until they win in the playoffs"

Usual suspect posters gotta be setting up that year long drawn out negativity thing in advance. Posters have learned from the media how to behave, and the media is a bunch of whiny 3 year olds at it's core.

People need to learn to let go. If I held on to everything like some people around here hold onto a misplay in a sport that's only purpose is entertainment I'd be one miserable person.
We will not let it go until they atleast win a playoff series. Marner is our Bill Buckner. Red Sox fans didn’t forgive Buckner until they won the World Series.

I can understand people saying they won't watch or even saying they can't enjoy the Leafs. And I also feel a little bit sorry for the ones who can't enjoy it any more, I'm suffering too but man, those were some enjoyable games last week IMHO. But the people I really can't understand are the ones who say they don't care anymore but still post here every day, that's just weird.

Strange comparison, doesn't make much sense.

Nobody ever has it all figured out, everybody is learning all the time, or at least they should be trying to do so.

What I am saying is that Marner has a number of years under his belt and he is one of the highest paid players in the world which means people should stop making excuses for him.
My bad, misunderstood what you said. Totally agree!

I wonder if Marner is still playing himself off of Team Canada according to the main board. Somehow I still think they figure Barzal is the better option.

Totally agree here too that any "youth" excuses dont cut it. He's into his prime now.

The announcing crew for the game tonight...

None of them should be allowed anything more than a broom....

Awful I will not watch any more regular season games..

just going to work and screw hotties till the playoffs..

Right from the beginning we saw the return of playoff Marner tonight. You can tell he wasn’t engaged from the start.

But he assisted on the only goal...?

Like really, is it his fault Liljegren and Muzzin got walked (with Sandin watching), or that Tavares blindly centered it into his own crease?

Granted, even with his hot streak he's still on pace for an underwhelming PPG season. It would be nice to see him lift a puck or two past a goalie and into the net.

Little bit of contact and Marner was falling all over the place. Guy needs to add serious muscle, especially to his lower body. Watching him out there is like watching a 18 year old... but he just doesn't get any stronger. Can't imagine him ever taking the next step in the playoffs as a purely offensive player who struggles to stay up on his feet once the game gets a bit physical. He is our gaudreau being paid Crosby money. Gaudreau was paid just over 9% of the team salary cap for his play, Marner at 9% instead of over 13% would be hovering below 8 million. Those that think gaudreau isn't a good comoarable.... at 24 he had 84 points and 20 points more than his next closest teammate. He doesn't have any linemates near the firepower of Matthews or Tavares.

Made no secret that I'm no fan of Marner's contract which makes me no longer a fan of his. This guy has miles to go before he's going to be a dominate force in the playoffs. In playoffs speed, physical play and quick decision making becomes a focus.... Marner is not particularly good at of these things. He's a hard worker at times, but he still lacks any sort of grit to his game. I have no idea how he has an A on his chest sometimes.

Still think this team is in desperate need of a big change with the core and definitely needs to fire the coach. I think Keefe tries hard but he is way out of his league in the NHL.

Much of the flaming was way to much. Much of it he was deserving.
Case closed.

Playoff concern is still legit.
