And it won't get that far. Soon as Dubas says "Alright, I guess we're done here. I'll start looking for trade options", Marner will cave.
That's basically how I see this going down, and if it happens any differently, I'll be surprised. We have 5-6 weeks of nothing happening until then.

Why would Dubas want to make himself wrongly appear like he's not in charge of the team?
It’s like a car salesman “calling the boss upstairs” to see if it’s ok to give you a deal.

Why would shanny not know about the deal parameters before dubas agrees it with marner camp? it makes zero sense, if in this fictional world of shanny the puppet master dubas does his bidding then dubas would have told him the deal before they shook hands with marner camp obviously
only marner camp would leak this if it were actually true. (it is not true) dubas would be the last person to leak this info

well I'm betting Larry tanenbaum might be coming down from his raptors high and maybe this deal has to have board approval given that the leafs dont have the money and if they ended up trading nylander to keep marner after giving him like 15 million would be just ludicrous
