I feel oke you're ignoring a whole lot of things and just went on the marner is overhyped tangent. No one said ppl are inferior to marner. And someone having a higher iqq doesn't make someo e else automatically inferior unless the comparison is specifically iq or things directly related to that iq. You say marners level of high iq is easily a top 10 player thing when it's not. No one else in the league makes creative plays at marners level day in day out for years. Some ppl say not even gretzky. Yeah it's become a legitimate comparison. Marner is the only player in the league who everyone and their mother always talks about his iq and his vision. Not even crosby or mcdavid or revered in their iq or 200 ft game or vision than marner. And you're telling me f***ing kucherov mackinnoj whoever the hell top 10 players, have a iq high enough than mcdavid and crosby? Who marner has a higher iq to? Who's iq and vision ppl say is rivaled to gretzky and no one else? And you're telling me it's a top 10 player thing and such an intangible unit of measurement? Like this man has started studying hickey at 10 months old. Thousands of probable patterns are literally seared in his brain bc his dad has made him study them since he was a newborn.
I'm having a hard time following the bolded parts.

I have no idea what you're on about with this "top 10 player thing" but I'll restate my opinion for you as clearly as I can.

Top 10 - IMO Marner is a top 10 forward in the NHL.

Hockey IQ - I think Marner is right up there with the best of them, but I would say the same about a few other players as well, Bergeron is the first one that comes to mind. So if we're talking about the "smartest players" in the league, he's in the top tier but he's not alone there, in the way that for example McDavid is alone in the top tier if we're talking about who the best players are.

I have told you multiple times before that game winning goal by Tampa in Game 6 wasn't Marner's fault.

Marner got the puck out of the Leafs end like he was supposed to do. It was Matthews who feel down which is why the Lightning got the puck right back and scored seconds later.
And I've told you the puck was never anywhere near Matthews. It was picked up way behind where Matthews fell. Take a screen grab of the point where the puck was near Matthews in the replay.

Watch this video of Marner clearing the puck out of the Leafs end and when the puck gets to Matthews, you will hear Chris Cuthbert saying how he "Lost an edge at centre" right before Brayden Point scores the game winning goal.

If you're still going to say the puck wasn't anywhere near Matthews, I don't know what else to tell you.

Funny how Marner didn't register any giveaways that game. It is easily verifiable. Now go away. This is a crazy level of dumb and I can't believe you havent been thread banned yet.

If you look at the overtime play by play from nhl.com during Game 6, they don't even list Marner with a giveaway right before the goal was scored.

When you look at all the Leafs players stats, their only players with giveaways in just Game 6 was Kerfoot who had 3 of them and Kampf who had 1 of them.

Zero the whole game

edit...
he actually had 1 giveaway in 7 games. The stupidity and blatant falsehoods here is astounding

Is the stat that SN showed last night publicly available?

I think it was 'pass attempts leading to scoring chance' or something similar, and our boy was at the top.

Nope. I'd prefer they not to be able to challenge offside at all.
It's such a miniscule thing that really has no impact on the goal.
I think the offside challenge should only be implemented if the goal is scored right after the offside.
For example, if Kerfoot scored right after he offside, then I think the goal should be called back. But there were multiple players touching the puck and a lot of back and forth went on before the goal.
I know this is not the rule but let’s say Kerfoot didn’t score but Hawks iced the puck, can the Hawks challenge offside? That’s why I think the challenge is a good idea but it needs a lot of fine tuning.

Sometimes I agree, but you have to draw the (blue)line somewhere.

It seems the linesmen are now letting a lot of close offside calls go, assuming that if a goal is scored, there's video review. Personally I'd rather they call them, and reduce the number of challenges.

He said top 5 all-time, then later said he wasn't being serious.

Who are these multiple people? I remember Cooper saying something about him being a smart player, who else? I also wouldn't take what he said literally. Do you think he has "the highest/best iq and vision in the league"?

I think Marner's right up there with the best of them but not necessarily better than his peers. For example, I'm not sure how I'd go about making a case that his hockey IQ is higher than Bergeron's. JMHO.
You have Google right there. You have articles from the athletic and the sun and the countless other news. You uave years of testimony literallyon the internet. It's like a broken record. Start typing bc I'm not sending you links when you just Google search 3 words and have thousands of results

Who knows what darkness exists in the hearts of ordinary mortal LeaFlanders?

Only the Shadow knows!
Shadow has many archtypes....Sage, Innocent, Explorer, Ruler, Creator, Caregiver, Magician, Hero, Rebel, Lover, Jester and the Orphan.
Lots of Jesters here yet I don't recall anyone asking to send in the clowns

I just think that if it’s that close who cares. It has no impact

Funny? It's evem more funny that you are completely unaware that giveaways are known to be the most useless stat. This has been we'll known on this board since I've been a member. You have lots to learn. Let's help you though...here is a link to a chat about rhe reliability or better the unreliability of the giveaway stat. Let me know if you need to learn anything else about hockey, I'm glad to help.
