When it comes to Hockey IQ, it is hard to quantify.
For example, due to McD skating, it allows him to have more space and time than any other players in the league. With more time and space, it allow players to make better decisions, at least in theory.
Point I am trying to make is that Hockey IQ or any sports IQ can only go as far as the players skills. Like anyone knows how to beat Michael Jordan one on one in Basketball, just need to stop him from scoring, but I don’t think a lot of players have the skill sets to do it.
To me sports IQ can be define as mistakes from the players. I am not talking about risky plays, as risky plays are high risk/high reward, but rather just complete boneheaded plays.
