Mitch is a special guy

The goal was nice but really liked what mitch said in the post game.

Made a statement on mental health and all that but wasn't shy and opened up about his vulnerabilities of the carjacking. Takes guts to do that in the press especially when you know the toronto media will use any bullet they have against you when you're not performing. " Mitch hasn't score in 10 games is the carjacking incident bothering him still?" type headlines are par for the course here lol.

Good on mitchy. Very very solid.

Same for JT too, thinking about the time with this core. His contract is almost over, and both Matthews and Marner are both… not young anymore… if that makes sense.

In 5 years, they’ll be 30… I feel old but blessed to have watched them since 2016.
Amen to that.
I've watched Marner off and on since 2004/2005.

5 years is a long time away. I'm more interested in what Marner is doing tomorrow. Let's see if he can rise to the occasion in Auston's absence.

It's strange Marner has been putting up points but not having many huge 3 or 4 point nights. It'd be nice to see him going on a real heater.

Honestly offensively I don't think marners been nearly his best all year . Very consistent but not quite where he could be. Him and mathews points per game are down significantly from last year but that's probably partly to do with not playing as much together.

Yeah for sure. It's fine because he's a great two way player and all the pk'ing he does but he definitely seems like he has more to give offensively. He's so dynamic with the puck he could have way more points right now.

I hate saying this since Matthews is our golden egg, but I honestly feel like Mitch would be on track for 100+ points if it weren’t for Matthews’ struggles this season.

Meh...I dunno. I think it more likely his car jacking affected him more but his season is pretty decent and the Leafs are winning. That is the most important thing.
Lets hope he stays healthy.

I think MM is playing a more complete game this season than ever. He rarely overthinks the game and just doing all the simple little things that is effective.
Yes, his points are down but the Leafs are playing better as a team. I know the Wins is about the same as last season but given the defence is battling injuries, the current team is doing better.

can someone please post a picture of these skates I keep hearing about???

  • Haha
Reactions: BTP
All star(again)
Record for consecutive point games for leafs
Record for consecutive home point games for leafs
Only leaf to have 40 plus assists in each of his first 7 years
Only leaf to have 60 plus points in his first 7 years

And I have to read he is overpaid and we should trade him lol
