They'd have to add.

Thompson and Dahlin for Marner and Holl.

Even then I’d hesistate because Thompson needs to show more on a consistent basis. But honestly that’s not a bad deal I’d the leafs were looking to change things up

This is such a poor troll job. Big BIG eye roll? Embarrassing.

There was a time when trolling had a bit of verve, and trolls weren’t so blatantly stupid. Your posts read like a third grader got access to the family PC.

Ya...personal stats and performance in games that matter? Who am I to judge Marner based on these standards in how he compares to his peers to see if he's really worth being paid the highest out of all the RWers in the league?

Silly me! MUST be a troll since I'm not blindly going "gaga" just because one of our stars is living up to his contract demands.

Would anyone here trade Marner for Tage Thompson?

Like right now, not in the offseason or something like that.
Marner is our playmaker. So you need a playmaker back. If we had McDavid or some other playmaking center, then Marner is wasted on that line. So our team is built around needing Marner to be a playmaker. But is he better right now this season then Tage Tompson? I dunno? Tage is doing wonders with lesser linemates.

One thing we can all agree on, there is nothing worse than dry toast. Ewww.

I miss the Barzal is better, the Aho is better, debates. You can cobble together anything if you have an axe to grind.

One thing I will give the younger generation is they aren't afraid to let their opinions known, no matter how dumb it sounds.

I'm likely older than you and as such, not as easily grateful or impressed.

lol

Know who impresses me? Gio. That's who impresses me.
iu

Marner held out and demanded his worth be league top. Wasn't personal. Was buisness. And now his play is meeting that level. And that's great! It's about time that our superstars who all demand to be paid league top actually play to that price tag!

Gio? Gio said it wasn't buisness. It was personal. Took a pay cut to come here and win.

So I treat Marner as buisness nothing more. Just as he treated us. (and likely will again on his next re-up. Both he and Matthews will not leave ANY money on the table. Nothing personal you see...only buisness) and that's the difference and why I give Gio all the respect and admiration in the world.

Always a hit and miss on Marner. Oh well...butter luck next time.
The best is how they think they’re making points but really just looking more and more ridiculous. Put the shovel down.

One thing people are sleeping on about Marner this year, he’s harder on the puck, his core is stronger, he can lean into people more with his legs. Reminds me of how Kadri matured. Not the same player, but both went down easily early on but got sturdier as they aged, bodes well for Mitch this playoffs.

Yeah I forgot about Barzal being better. I wonder if that poster around here still thinks that?

I actually like Marner taking on the center's defensive responsibilities on his line. Tavares is fine as the FO man considering he's at 60% this year but Marner is lethal the more responsibility he has on him. I honestly think Nylander could handle some pk duties too, he has that in him the same way Marner does.

This isn't directly related to Mitch, but this is my all-time favourite thread:

Matthews vs Aho (including contracts)

Just hilarious. People will find players to compare our stars to all the time

He has become so dangerous, he is actually improving by drawing more people to him and opening the lanes for finishers.

The main board consistently embarrasses themselves with their opinions and comparisons of Leafs players and they never seem to learn.

There's actually posters on here who reference the main boards to try and back their opinions up.
Mainboards lack wisdom

He opens up so much ice by drawing in opposing players. It’s even more impressive because they know he’s pass first.

The mainboards isn't impartial when they speak about the Leafs, there's bias so don't take anything they say seriously. Matthews won the Hart last year (which is voted on by the PHWA) and the Lindsay (which is voted on by the NHLPA). You have the paid writers who cover the sport and the actual players that play the sport vote for Matthews to be the best player last year and you still had morons on the mains saying he's not top 3.

They don't care about player opinions, they don't care about paid writer opinions, they don't care about coaches opinions...they only wanna hear their own confirmed so they congregate there.

It does take some fortunate bounces to go on these streaks, like the 2 opportunities for the empty net, clicking on the 2nd. opportunity off a pass by everyone's favorite Kerfoot.
