If he finishes his career with the leafs he will be the number one or two top scorer in the history of the leafs
The idea of another decade with Marner doesn't fill me with joy.

How about something more realistic, Marner for Laine?Marner for Makar. Get it done
Well Christmas is coming. Have you been a good boy?Marner for Makar. Get it done
Add Matthews with a 100% retention and then maybe you start a convoMarner for Makar. Get it done
Honestly, while not ideal, I'm completely fine with losing him for nothing in FA. Would make the team better by default. Addition by subtraction.Where would Marner rank in current NHL wingers? I know where he ranks in salary, but as an actual effective NHL player? Hell of a contract he got with a NMC for the final 2 seasons to walk him to UFA.

I appreciate that he’s made it very easy to choose which one of the Big Four need to go.
Really? I'm certainly no Marner fan but that seems far too low. I was thinking more in the 20-25 range off the top of my head without considering every top 6 winger league wide.In regards to wingers. 50-60 range.
Tavares has been consistently great this entire season. Might not be worth $11M (which was never going to be surprising in the final few years of his deal), but can never question the guy's effort. If Marner and Matthews gave the same effort that JT does most nights, they'd be contending for the Art Ross (and the team would be somewhat watchable). He's caught the same bug Tavares has. Getting paid to show up. Wife needs him home asap. The gingerbread house won't frost itself, Mitch.
I don’t think so. He is pretty average. He does nothing specialReally? I'm certainly no Marner fan but that seems far too low. I was thinking more in the 20-25 range off the top of my head without considering every top 6 winger league wide.
Oh please, JT is such a pro he leaves it all on the ice. Win, lose, this is just a job. Gud pro on the ice, gud pro off it. Can't have your job results affecting your home life now. Gotta make sure the wife has a happy husband no matter how hard your team f***ing sucksTavares has been consistently great this entire season. I have zero concern about this rough patch as I'm confident that we will make the playoffs as usual, and Marner will finish the season with 90+ points as usual. It's the rough patch he hits every year after the first 4 games of the playoffs that I'm uneasy about and there's nothing temporary about that.Marner is still an all world player who can single handedly win games
He's having a rough patch but form is temporary and class is permanent, he will start playing to his full abilities
It's just a matter of time
I wouldn't mind seeing Keefe split Matthew's and Marner up though, they look stale and it would get at least one of them away from tough match-ups
Put Marner with Domi and Robertson for a game or two, I could see those guys giving there competition a hell of a hard time
I guess we pay him the same amount on his contract then maybe some money for being a core member or something cause I don’t see him taking a pay cut and we’re nuts to pay him any more then he gets he takes care of his body but he hasn’t done what he could to put on muscle and size to be able to play rugged playoff hoccey it’s been 7 years and hrs probably the same size and he’s a man now it’s crazyI have zero concern about this rough patch as I'm confident that we will make the playoffs as usual, and Marner will finish the season with 90+ points as usual.
